The husband was always a difficult person for Seoyeon.
When facing him, Seoyeon often felt overwhelmed by fear, and her words would get stuck.
This was partly because he was the owner of Hanking Group, a giant corporate, and also because of his shameless attitude, persisting in maintaining his marriage despite having a woman he loved for a long time.
He always had confidence in decisions he made.
He believed that the wrongs he committed were trivial, and he was sure that Seoyeon’s wounds could heal.
“The documents should be organized a month later.”
A year ago, Seoyeon was invited to dinner by her mother-in-law.
Having been treated as if nonexistent for the past few years, Seoyeon went to the meeting place with a mixture of tension and excitement.
It might be challenging, but she hoped that if she made an effort, her sincerity might be conveyed, and her mother-in-law’s heart might be softened.
However, contrary to Seoyeon’s expectations, the meeting place was not just with her mother-in-law.

The daughter of the Daewon Group, with whom her mother-in-law had recently frequent meetings, was also sitting there.
Seoyeon realized at that moment that her mother-in-law’s final notice meant withdrawing from this place.
Her husband, who seemed willing to agree to a divorce easily, refused Seoyeon’s request.
Seoyeon knew the reason was that he considered honor important.
He was a man who thought divorce would leave a mark on his life.
But now, he seemed convinced that divorcing Seoyeon would be advantageous for his path.
The way he casually mentioned the word “divorce” with an indifferent face.
Could it be that her mother finally made meetings with her husband and the Daewon Group’s daughter happen?
“Why a month later?”
“There’s an unavoidable important schedule.”

A voice that was excessively cool and lacked emotion. A man adorned with reason and coldness.
A person who wouldn’t bat an eye even if she said she was dying.
From the beginning, Seoyeon knew that her husband was a man so indifferent and devoid of emotions, yet why did an itchiness arise in some corner of her heart?
Even I believed that I had sorted out any emotions towards you a long time ago, so why did some lingering feelings remain?
Unable to find an answer, Seoyeon, who had quickly organized her emotions, nodded her head.
“All right. Let’s do it that way.”
“For a while, it’ll be difficult to make time like today. So, if there’s anything you want, say it now.”
Although Seoyeon was not a person who always had confidence in her decisions like her husband, she did not want anything as a reward for enduring her marriage with him.
“What I want is to divorce you as soon as possible. I don’t need anything else.”
At that moment, her husband’s eyebrows slightly raised.

His sharp, downward gaze slowly scanned Seoyeon.
Feeling that her husband’s gaze was like a deep abyss, Seoyeon answered.
“If we divorce, I hope Mr. Seongjun meets a suitable woman. You’re a splendid and capable person, so you’ll soon find a wise and beautiful woman.”
Seoyeon had received messages from the woman who was her husband’s lover before they got married. Most of the messages were about resentment, blaming Seoyeon for taking Seongjun away from her.
Now, with a mixture of wishing happiness for that woman and reproaching his denial, Seoyeon expressed her thoughts. Alternatively, welcoming the daughter of the Daewon Group, whom his mother desired, as his wife seemed like an acceptable plan.
However, due to the sudden change in her husband’s expression, she couldn’t follow up with a response.
“Han Seoyeon.”
Looking at the deep lines of his refined forehead and his stern gaze, she could tell that his mood had worsened at a glance.
“I don’t need anything, I just want a divorce. I hope you meet a good woman soon. It seems like divorcing you is a very urgent matter to you, or perhaps you’re under the delusion that it’s the key to solving everything.”
Seoyeon felt suffocated by Seongjun’s intense gaze and tone.
So, unlike usual, she revealed her innermost thoughts, which she would never do.

“Was it so unacceptable for me to be the one to first demand a divorce from you? Is that why?”
Seoyeon’s question made Seongjun laugh as if it were amusing.
“Yeah. It hurts your pride.”
When Seoyeon, puzzled by Seongjun’s response, was momentarily speechless, he asked, scrutinizing her sharply.
“So, what if I say I can’t divorce again? What will you do then?”
“Then I’ll have to beg you again.”
And, fearing her husband’s reproachful gaze, she hastily added.
“I’ll leave first. See you in a month.”
A month later, when that time passed, this relationship with the man would become nothing more.
It felt refreshing yet disappointing.

At least she wouldn’t receive judgmental gazes as if she were a burden on her husband’s life. That was fortunate.
Time passed quickly.
A month later, Seoyeon, who lived as usual, could hear news about her husband through an article.
He was convening major shareholders and executives, pushing for a merger with Daewon Group.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
