At this point, she could only assume he harbored romantic feelings for her.

Though touched, Hye Sun believed it right to be clear in her refusal, so she hardened her expression.

“After today’s incident, you must already understand—work is the most important thing in the world to me. I simply don’t have the mental bandwidth for anything else.”

He didn’t seem disappointed at all; instead, he smiled gently and suddenly brought up something she hadn’t even asked about.

“People often ask me why I’ve never married.”

Hye Sun looked at him, puzzled.

“I usually say I got so caught up in work that I missed my chance and suddenly found myself this old—but truthfully, even I didn’t really know. No matter how busy I was, it wasn’t like I couldn’t date at all, and there were definitely a few people I briefly saw back then.”

“When I first appeared on the news after returning alive, you said clearly that you had no interest in your ex-husband’s management rights and would never interfere. That’s when I realized—Ah, my senior plans to become Chairman of Dae Won Group.”
