Feeling guilty about having forced Eun Seo out against her will, Mom quickly called Seon Ah and asked, as if needing confirmation:

“Does this really mean Eun Seo will become the lady of a wealthy household?”

“Well, yes, that’s exactly what it means. Please stop worrying.”

Seon Ah popped a plump Hallabong from the fruit basket into her mouth as she replied over the phone. Expensive fruit really did taste better—was this from a department store?

“Don’t feel bad, Mom. By now, the prince has probably rushed over and taken her away.”

After soothing her mother and hanging up, Seon Ah finally quietly opened the red envelope Chairman Kwon Seung Joo had handed her earlier that day.

Her jaw dropped as she checked the amount inside.

“……!”

It was an enormous sum—equivalent to a full month’s salary.

Tears of emotion welled up in Seon Ah’s eyes again. Of course! Our Seung Joo—no, our Director—is truly a good person!

Her heart was at ease, her wallet was full, and she could legally skip work. Everything was perfect except for one thing: boredom. Being cooped up all day in the stuffy, suffocating hospital room made her desperately miss the cool, fresh air outside.
