Yoon Ho will be returning to the U.S. soon—if not now, you’ll never see him again!

After receiving Seon Ah’s call urging her to hurry over, Eun Seo stepped out of Seon Ah’s room.

She was already distressed from everything involving Kwon Seung Joo. Truthfully, she felt indifferent toward everything in the world—but strangely, Chris was the only exception.

She wanted to see him in person and, if given the chance, even say a few words of encouragement—tell him how much she admired his hard work and urge him to keep going.

“Excuse me, I should be heading off now. Seon Ah asked me to come over.”

As she said her goodbyes, Seon Ah’s mother, wearing an apron, rushed out from the kitchen, waving her hands.

“Oh dear, the food’s almost ready! Stay for lunch! Seon Ah insisted you eat meat, so I specially grilled some pork belly for you.”

Eun Seo hesitated for a moment. What if Chris left before she even got there? But she couldn’t refuse Seon Ah’s mother’s kindness.

“Then I’ll gladly accept your offer.”

And so, Eun Seo ended up sitting alone across from Seon Ah’s mother for a meal.

Seon Ah’s mom was an extremely cheerful person. Watching her, Eun Seo finally understood who Seon Ah took after.

The mother Eun Seo remembered was mostly drunk, crying, angry, or depressed—before losing Eun Ho, because of her strained relationship with her husband; after losing him, because of Eun Ho himself.

Deep down, Eun Seo envied Seon Ah. Ah, so a mother could be like this too.

Worried that Eun Seo was too thin, Seon Ah’s mother kept urging her to eat more of everything, then casually asked,

“So, Eun Seo, do you have a boyfriend?”
