Under the clear blue sky, a cool breeze carried the sharp, spicy scent throughout the spacious yard of the Yeonsa-dong house. It was the smell of tteokbokki.

“This smells so good!”

Eyes sparkling, the group of grown-up “children” seated around the table placed on the traditional earthenware terrace included Seung Joo, Eun Seo, Seon Ah, and even Na Eun.

“How long has it been since we last had tteokbokki? Today, I’m going to eat enough to make up for all the times I couldn’t!”

Na Eun asked curiously.

Though there was a considerable age gap between Seon Ah and Na Eun, they were practically soul twins—both had been heartbroken by Kwon Seung Joo and had moved on to Chris. They’d instantly clicked the very first day they met, right when Eun Ho reunited with Eun Seo on live broadcast, and now they chatted daily on messenger as fellow fangirl buddies. Just earlier, Seon Ah had brought over a whole bundle of photocards from an album, making Na Eun’s smile stretch ear to ear.

“Mom kept nagging me lately that I’ve gained weight, so I couldn’t eat any.”

Seon Ah looked at Na Eun with envy.

“You’re so lucky to be slim, Na Eun.”

Although Na Eun was still in her third year of high school, she was tall and slender enough that people mistook her for a college student as soon as she took off her uniform. Her face was so pretty that Eun Seo had even exclaimed the first time she saw her, “You could totally debut in a girl group!”

“But seriously, did your mom really tell you to come visit her directly?”

“That’s exactly what she said.”
