Seeing Seung Joo’s suddenly alarmed expression, Manager Choi asked in utter astonishment,

“Are you telling me you actually planned to get married without even giving her a ring?”

Now that she mentioned it, in movies and dramas, the man usually proposes by placing a ring on the woman’s finger. Yet he hadn’t even proposed—let alone given a ring—and had instead unilaterally announced their marriage to a third party.

“…I didn’t think of that.”

Manager Choi sighed so deeply it felt as if the ground might cave in, making Seung Joo’s heart shrink to the size of a soybean.

“They always say that when you feel it’s too late, it truly already is.”

A moment later, Manager Choi straightened her posture and offered advice.

“So you’d better act quickly, even now.”

Ahead of tomorrow’s competition, Chris went to bed early. Thanks to someone spilling a drink on his bed, the production crew kindly allowed him to have a room to himself that night.

Perhaps it was because the room was quiet—but he’d been worried he wouldn’t be able to sleep due to his excitement over the possibility that his mother and older sister might still be alive. Unexpectedly, he slept soundly through the night until morning without waking once.

Yet when he woke up, instead of feeling refreshingly light, his body strangely felt heavy and sluggish. Sensing a cold draft coming from somewhere, he looked over and saw the window wide open.

His heart dropped.

‘Why is that open?’

He did recall feeling oddly cold while sleeping, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t open his eyes and simply kept sleeping.
