You Can't Catch the Wind (Completed Main Story) - Side Story 6
Calon sat with his chin resting in his hand, lost in thought.
He remembered the day a week ago when he had first properly met Esila.
The child, calling him “Dad” and pulling him by the hand, led Calon around like a paper doll.
Esila asked him for all sorts of things: to lift her up to reach the branches of a tree, to catch fish from the pond, to buy her ice cream, and so on…
Calon, feeling like a fool, granted Esila every wish.
Then, as the sun began to set, people started emerging from the seminar hall.
Seeing this, Esila—who had been tirelessly running around—let go of his hand, saying she needed to go to her mother, and dashed toward the seminar hall.
Calon couldn’t bring himself to stop her and could only watch as Esila ran farther away.
Just then, the child, running without a care, suddenly turned around and shouted to him.
〈In a week! Meet me here again, Dad!〉
For the entire week until their next meeting, Calon lived almost in a daze.
When Thursday came again, Calon entered the academy at dawn and headed straight to the spot where he’d promised to meet Esila.
He waited anxiously at the park entrance, where morning dew still lingered.
What if she hadn’t meant it? What if she simply wouldn’t come? Perhaps she’d completely forgotten about him during the week…
But soon, he heard light footsteps running toward him.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
