The next day, Altvea’s gatekeepers were blocking the crowds as usual.

Though the number of people had decreased somewhat since it became known that Calon Ash refused to see anyone, they had only lessened—not vanished entirely.

About half of those who came did so partly out of curiosity to glimpse the Altvea mansion from afar, treating it almost like a leisurely stroll.

The other half, as always, firmly believed they absolutely had to meet Calon Ash, convinced that if he only heard their name or read their business proposal, he would treat them with great respect.

And rarely, there were those who belonged to neither group.

“Make way, all of you!”

Viscount Aradis, who was now approaching, was the prime example.

Ever since Calon Ash revealed his true identity, the Viscount had come to the mansion every day, insisting he had urgent matters to discuss with Calon Ash concerning his daughter—but, naturally, every request had been rejected.
