At Kyle’s words, Ael’s eyes widened. Wasn’t that just a polite remark, already concluded long ago?

Yet Kyle spoke as though Ael had promised to contact him separately afterward but had simply forgotten.

Viscountess Aradis, overhearing their conversation, couldn’t hide the upward curve of her lips at the mention of “expressing sincerity.”

She’d already received an extravagant gift last time—now the thought of receiving another made her momentarily forget even Elise’s situation, lifting her spirits.

“And I’m not sure if this reached you, but I came today because I have a request for Miss Aelfrida.”

“Yes. I heard. You asked if I could teach you the ancient language…”

“That’s right. However, Viscount Aradis informed me that such a request would be considered highly impolite in Denertum. So I won’t dare ask you again.”

At Kyle’s words, spoken as if he’d given up, Ael bit her lip.
