“Surely you didn’t just bring the article.”

Reporter Yoo, with an expectant look, pulled a document envelope containing photos from her bag.

“Do you think I’d come all this way without evidence? And when you readily agreed to meet someone as insignificant as me, I assumed you, as the director, must have already had some expectations—or at least some preparedness.”

With exaggerated arrogance, Reporter Yoo gestured for Si Yoon to open the envelope. But Si Yoon didn’t even try to open it, merely staring silently down at the envelope.

“It’s photos of Choi Mi Joo meeting someone.”

“Heh.”

Si Yoon let out a small, quiet laugh.

“I’m not the kind of person who locks others away. Ms. Mi Joo is free to go wherever she pleases and meet whomever she likes. I don’t intend to engage with baseless attempts to tarnish her reputation using meaningless photos.”

As Si Yoon moved to stand up from the sofa, Reporter Yoo, flustered, quickly grabbed the envelope.

“You’ll change your mind once you see them.”

She opened the envelope, pulled out the photos, and held them out to Si Yoon. Si Yoon’s eyebrows twitched slightly upon seeing the photos, but he quickly returned to his calm expression and sat back down onto the sofa, taking the photos from Reporter Yoo’s hand.

It was a photo of Mi Joo seated at an open-air café. And across from Mi Joo, as the reporter had said, sat a man.

They were seated closely across from each other at a rather small round table, and the man’s hand was reaching toward Mi Joo’s face—a photo radiating an ambiguous atmosphere.

“That’s Choi Mi Joo, right?”

Si Yoon neither confirmed nor denied it. But the reporter took his silence as tacit confirmation.
