As if displeased with Mi Joo’s reaction, one of Si Yoon’s eyebrows shot up sharply as he stepped toward her from the doorway.

“When you come to Seoul, the person you want to meet…”

Si Yoon dragged out the end of his sentence, as if telling her to answer quickly.

“When did you get here?”

“You didn’t even hear someone coming—must have been someone you’re really happy to see?”

Si Yoon was curious and bothered by this person of Mi Joo’s that he didn’t know.

“It’s the writer Choi Su Young.”

Mi Joo honestly revealed who was on the phone. But Si Yoon’s lips hardened with resolve. As if frustrated, he lightly loosened his tie and undid one shirt button.

Mi Joo took a step closer to Si Yoon and gave the tense man her brightest smile.

“Something good happened to me.”

But Si Yoon just looked down at her without replying.

“My submission for the art fair got accepted. I made it in. It’s my very first pass in my professional life.”

Mi Joo spoke in an excited voice, thrilled that her efforts and abilities had been recognized.

“I should congratulate you, then.”

With those words, Si Yoon pulled Mi Joo close and pressed his lips to hers. A slow, lingering kiss followed. With her eyes closed, Mi Joo couldn’t believe she was receiving such sweet congratulations in her happiest moment.
