You Accepted the Contract (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 2
A man with a towering height and broad shoulders that would stand out anywhere, wearing a perfectly tailored suit, was nowhere to be seen.
‘He was the kind of man you could spot from a mile away.’
In that short time, he had vanished somewhere. Mi Joo withdrew her gaze after looking around.
‘Yeah. There’s no need to go out of my way to thank someone who doesn’t want to be found.’
Yet, caught between an inexplicable sense of regret and the busyness of having work to do, Mi Joo finished her tasks without being able to settle her heart.
* * *
For her next part-time job, Mi Joo hurried toward the parking lot in the embassy’s backyard.
As she took out her car keys from her bag and headed to her car, Mi Joo suddenly stopped dead in her tracks. It felt like her breath had stopped too.
In the quiet courtyard stood a black-haired man—the one called Tim—with a blonde foreign woman beside him. He wasn’t alone.
The blonde woman wearing a backless dress that plunged deeply below her waist was seductive even from behind.
The woman who had been saying something wrapped her arms around the man’s neck as if to kiss him, while the man looked down at her with cold eyes. The moment that scene registered, Mi Joo quickly turned away.
‘What the hell, in the parking lot!’
She grumbled, but her heart started pounding like it was about to leap out of her chest.
‘They’re the ones kissing, so why is my heart acting like this! Is this what the adult world is like? Just watching makes it this suffocating and blatant?’
Mi Joo suddenly wondered why, even though she was an adult herself, she had never once seduced someone like that.
Si Yoon had no intention of accepting the woman who was so openly lifting her face toward him. He turned his head to avoid the blonde’s lips. By now she should have realized his refusal and backed off, yet the woman showed no sign of giving up.
That said, he couldn’t exactly take his hands out of his pockets and push her away. Touching her unnecessarily might come off as rude or lead to strange misunderstandings.
Si Yoon coldly restrained the blonde woman.
Mi Joo was taking deep breaths with her back turned to the couple who were kissing, but her chest was still thumping wildly.
She recalled the man who, despite the seductive woman with the sexy back taking the lead, had looked at her with icy eyes and a strange smile.
Clearly the woman had wrapped her arms around the man’s neck. Yet the man had kept his hands in his trouser pockets without moving a finger.
‘What’s with him. Even when a woman like that seduces him, he’s unbelievably aloof. Don really his type the middle-aged woman he was kind to earlier?’
Mi Joo closed her eyes, doubting the man’s tastes.
‘One, two, three… nine, ten. It should be safe to turn around now.’
She quietly turned her body. Fortunately, the two were now apart, and the man still had his hands in his pockets, keeping distance from the woman.
But did she mistake this attitude for playing hard to get? The blonde rose on her tiptoes once more, earnestly seeking the man’s lips, and lifted the hand holding her clutch to wrap around his neck again.
In that instant, the man took his hand out of his pocket and lightly snatched the clutch from her hand.
Mi Joo closed her eyes. Yet even with her eyes shut, the woman’s advance and the man’s action played vividly in slow motion before her.
To stumble upon such an intensely private moment between a man and woman. Mi Joo froze in place, unable to turn away again. All she could do was stand there, squeezing her eyes tighter and trying to calm her racing heart.
‘Ugh, I can’t go back, just… tone it down a little.’
Her car was over there, so she couldn’t take another route, and pretending not to see was impossible—the scene was already far too stimulating, and her imagination was running even wilder than what she had just witnessed.
‘What am I even imagining.’
Mi Joo slapped both her cheeks with her hands and opened her eyes. Perhaps the small sound reached the man. Mi Joo realized he was looking at her over the woman’s shoulder.
7 p.m., when the banquet was about to begin.
The sun had already set, and only faint streetlights gently illuminated the quiet parking lot.
In that subtle atmosphere, meeting the man’s gaze made chills run through Mi Joo’s entire body.
Yet the man looked at Mi Joo with an expression that showed no concern at all. No—rather, it almost felt like he was enjoying the sight of Mi Joo stuck, unsure whether to stay or go.
The blonde, having been rejected twice, seemed thoroughly annoyed and reached out for the clutch in Si Yoon’s hand.
The man politely lifted the clutch he had taken to the side. The large back of his hand with prominent veins. His long fingers holding the small clutch.
He placed the sparkling clutch onto the woman’s hand.
Even Mi Joo could tell the man was deliberately trying not to touch the woman as much as possible.
‘No, it’s just handing over a tiny handbag! Their hands aren’t even touching each other’s bodies, so why is my whole body so tense?’
In that moment, Mi Joo realized why she was nervous. It was because the man’s gaze was still fixed on her.
‘He needs to stop now.’
Whether she closed her eyes again or walked past, she couldn’t keep watching this extremely private scene between the two of them.
Yet Mi Joo’s entire body was captured by his gaze and couldn’t move.
Keeping his eyes fixed on Mi Joo, the man leaned close to the woman’s ear and whispered something.
The blonde glared at Si Yoon, spun around angrily, then spotted Mi Joo standing behind her and grimaced in displeasure.
She snarled in English and brushed past Mi Joo. She wasn’t angry that someone had seen their intimate moment—she was offended that the man hadn’t batted an eye at her seduction.
Even after the woman left, Mi Joo stood frozen in place. Because the man was walking toward her.

Still with both hands shoved in his trouser pockets, approaching at a leisurely pace without any urgency.
He came right up to Mi Joo and stopped.
The first words she barely managed to utter were, absurdly, an apology.
“What exactly did you see?”
Mi Joo had spoken in English, but the man answered in Korean as if it were the most natural thing.
“Let’s speak in Korean.”
Si Yoon cut her off.
‘Korean!’
“Why apologize first when you say you saw something?”
“Ah… no, it’s not that. I didn’t see anything.”
“…First time seeing people kiss on the street?”
At the blunt question, Mi Joo tried her best to sound calm so as not to show her fluster.
“No, I’ve seen it a lot.”
Saying “a lot” sounded weird too.
Anyway, this was raw America, on American soil. There were plenty of couples kissing on the street or confirming their love with deep embraces.
Mi Joo had tried to adapt to the States, but being Korean through and through, there had been times when such free expressions of affection left her embarrassed and looking for anywhere else to stare.
Now, though, she even envied their natural and liberated ways.
But the scene just now felt more obscene than anything, and intruding on their private space made her uncomfortable.
“No, here… I haven’t seen it.”
“Of course you haven’t.”
“Yes?”
“Because we didn’t kiss—I was the one being kissed one-sidedly.”
Ah, right, the man had been kissed by the woman. And the woman had been the one unilaterally trying to elicit a reaction.
Remembering that moment made Mi Joo’s face flush red. She could feel the heat herself, but his next words made her face and heart burn even more.
“Why did you follow me?”
“Follow you?”
Despite Mi Joo’s protest, he continued nonchalantly.
“That woman earlier said the same thing—that she came out here for some fresh air in a quiet place. That excuse doesn’t work on me.”
“What are you talking about! Tim, you…”
“How do you know my name? Ha.”
As the man sighed in disbelief, Mi Joo quickly continued.
“The reason I know your name is…”
“Kim Si Yoon. Not ‘you.’”
“Anyway, it seems there’s some misunderstanding—you’re not my type.”
At Mi Joo’s indignant outburst, Si Yoon tossed out a single line.
“What if you were my type?”
“…Pardon?”
Mi Joo’s brain buffered for a moment in Korean; she blinked and tried to piece together the context. But he recovered first.
“Don’t worry. You’re not my type either.”
What was this? A strange mixture of feeling like she’d lost and a touch of hurt left Mi Joo blinking silently.
Even under the dim parking lot lights, she worried pointlessly whether he could see her burning face, and her pride flared up.
“But haven’t we met somewhere before?”
At his question, Mi Joo tried to answer calmly.
“Yes, we have. Earlier in the hall. Thank you for wiping the cocktail off me.”
He seemed satisfied only after hearing her thanks. Even while expressing gratitude, Mi Joo’s expression remained prim.
“No, I mean before that—I feel like we’ve met somewhere.”
“How cliché and corny. Accusing me of following you, saying we’ve met before…”
“Isn’t it true? Then why deny it while your face turns bright red.”

She hadn’t wanted him to notice, but apparently her flushed face gave her away. Mi Joo quickly pressed the backs of her hands to her cheeks. They felt burning hot too.
“You keep misunderstanding, that’s why.”
“If it was a misunderstanding, I’m sorry.”
‘What the—! Why is he so cool about it? It makes it look like I’m the only one overreacting to nothing.’
Mi Joo found the nonchalant man subtly irritating.
“But does your neck have to turn red too?”
Thoroughly embarrassed, Mi Joo quickly raised both hands and undid the hair tie that had kept her hair in a neat bun all evening.
The hair that had been tied in a bun for work fell naturally in waves over Mi Joo’s shoulders.
She shook her hair out to cover her supposedly red neck, but he watched her without blinking an eye.
When her round head had been neatly tied back, Si Yoon had thought Mi Joo looked cute. But with her long hair down naturally, he felt her femininity.
‘The vibe is completely different from earlier.’
In the banquet hall earlier she had worn light makeup, but now she looked much more natural.
‘Can someone’s aura change this much in less than thirty minutes?’
He became curious what kind of atmosphere this woman would give off in a different place, not here.
‘At home, or in a car?’
When they were alone in an extremely private space—what would this woman be like then? Si Yoon felt a sudden curiosity.
‘You idiot.’
Thinking such pointless things in front of a woman he’d just met. Si Yoon turned his gaze from her to the night sky. With a bitter smile, he tried to erase those thoughts.
Male lead is reincarnated to save his wife
I’ve also read this one twice already. The female lead is kinda soft and gets embarrassed easily—not really my type, but the plot is definitely worth reading. Hurry up and read it, y’all!

Intro
When Shen Yuan encountered Su Jin again in his previous life, she had already become the Prime Minister of the current dynasty. As for him, the former top young master of the capital, he had long since fallen into the abyss, becoming a singer on a pleasure boat.
After a song ended, he was redeemed and sent to the Su Residence.
Su Jin respected and cherished him, gave him a roof over his head, and bestowed him with warmth. Shen Yuan fell deeper and deeper, but before he could express his feelings, Su Jin passed away.
Shen Yuan died to follow her in death, but instead, he returned to when he was fifteen years old.
At that time, he was not yet engaged, and Su Jin was just a poor scholar.
Shen Yuan gritted his teeth, casting aside all his pride, and thought of ways to coax and entice her every day.
The colder and more indifferent Su Jin was towards him, the more proactive Shen Yuan became.
He was not afraid of being mocked by the world, only wanting to marry his Wife-master early, to hold her hand and never let go for a lifetime.
[Note: This story will not specifically point out the male lead’s reincarnation time point; it’s all in the details. Whenever you feel that the male lead is acting strangely, he has most likely been reincarnated.]
