What kind of accidents do chaebols have? So-min couldn’t understand the mindset that, as long as wealth and power were maintained, any meeting or relationship could be overlooked.
“Whether it’s a man or a woman, I don’t use violence. I just don’t look kindly on anyone who behaves like a human trash, regardless of who it is.”
“It’s okay. It’s better to cause an accident and bow your head in advance than make a fuss later after a late-night escapade.”
What kind of accidents do chaebols have? So-min couldn’t understand the mindset that, as long as wealth and power were maintained, any meeting or relationship could be overlooked.
“Should I hit women now after causing a big accident?”
Shaking his head, Si-yoon took a step back, and So-min seemed to expect something. However, Si-yoon went to the sofa, not So-min, and raised his index finger toward her.
“Stop it. Don’t you dare hit me again. I’m sure you don’t want to eat with me yet.”
So-min went to the sofa, grabbed her bag, which was worth a car, and glared at Si-yoon.
“I’ll keep it a secret for now.”
Seemingly holding onto lingering feelings until the end, unable to acknowledge reality, and as if determined to keep it a secret, So-min came out with a quite resolute face. Seeing her like that, Si-yoon was simply flabbergasted.
“You can tell everyone. Anyway, if Ho So-min knows, it’s only a matter of time before everyone knows.”

So-min’s face turned crimson, almost about to burst.
When Si-yoon gestured towards the door, indicating for her to leave, So-min stomped her feet and angrily left like a raging bull.
Knock, knock.
As sounds of knocking reached Denny’s office, a secretary entered and informed that a guest had arrived.
“How did you come without Professor’s notice?”
“True. It’s my first time visiting Denny’s office since moving the law firm.”
Seeing Si-yoon, who works as a capable attorney at a fairly large law firm, Denny smiled as if he felt honored.
“I feel sorry for troubling you with errands every day.”
“What are you talking about? Professor, you are the reason I’ve settled down like this.”
Denny, with a pleased expression, seemed to enjoy Si-yoon’s requests for errands.

Denny, on behalf of Si-yoon, was responsible for legal reviews on the establishment of the cultural foundation, appointment of the inaugural chairman, and handling legal affairs.
“We’ve been through the document review at the foundation establishment committee, and now both of you have been recommended to the final appointing authority, Chairman Kim.”
Although Chairman Kim holds full authority, for the legitimacy and transparency of the organization, Chairman Kim stepped back and delegated the work to the Foundation Establishment Committee.
“Professor and Director Kim Byung-jun. These two are the final candidates.”
“Uncle won’t make it anyway. There’s no need to get our hopes up for no reason.”
“Some of the foundation committee members are mindful of Director Kim Byung-jun, so it was not easy to completely exclude him. However, the results are already out, so you can relax.”
Although the final decision is still pending, Si-yoon becoming the chairman is an established fact.
If Byung-jun, who received illicit funds, were to take the chairman’s position, there would be a high risk of expanding corruption within the foundation. Therefore, there is no reason for the foundation to take on Byung-jun’s risk.
“Unless Director Kim Byung-jun becomes the chairman, you can handle receiving illicit funds as a personal misstep.”
It might be good to use it as a pressure card whenever Byung-jun moves in the future.

Things were progressing well, but Si-yoon was worried about the upcoming schedule.
“The foundation’s inaugural ceremony and the first exhibition can’t proceed without the chairman. The problem is setting the schedule for returning home.”
On this matter, Denny couldn’t say anything. He knew why Si-yoon was hesitant to return.
“To be honest, if I return this time, it seems difficult to come out for a while. Miss Mi-joo is still in the middle of the semester, so I’m wondering when to schedule it.”
To be more honest, Si-yoon doesn’t want to be away from Mi-joo, even for a short time. That would be a more accurate expression.
Although Denny has known Si-yoon for a long time, he has never seen Si-yoon worrying about matters related to a woman even once.
When Si-yoon first helped with the paperwork for the contract marriage, he didn’t expect himself to fall for a woman to this extent. This change in Si-yoon is unfamiliar but also welcoming for Denny.
“Um, even after a year…?”
“Of course!”
Even before Denny’s question was over, Si-yoon gave a firm answer that he would continue his relationship with Mi-joo after a year.
“We need to sign the papers again when we get married in Seoul.”

Seeing Si-yoon smiling while thinking about the actual wedding, Denny also felt good.
“Hey, Hyung.”
“Calling me ‘Hyung’ seems like you’re teasing me or something.”
“No, it’s just that people change so suddenly.”
“Should I give it a try?”
Laughter started to rise on Si-yoon’s face as Denny began his tease.
“When you met Amy, you said you only realized true love and were jumping around the school square. I know all about it.”
“When did I do that?”
“When you broke up with Jenny, you cried that life was meaningless now.”
“Oh, Hyung.”

“Who else?”
“Nobody. Really. If someone hears, they’ll think I’m crazy.”
“No one will. When you couldn’t part ways with that girl you fell in love with at the Korean restaurant, saying you couldn’t eat for three days, I even cooked for you.”
“Well, that’s why I wrote the contract.”
“Quickly pay it off and get away from me?”
Their banter, free of ill feelings, seemed more like that of neighborhood siblings who have known each other for a long time than that of a professor and a lawyer.
“Hyung, do you know something more extreme than me? It’s like meeting a girlfriend for the first time in puberty.”
Si-yoon tried to erase the smile on his face and maintain a composed expression, but he failed. The vibration on the phone placed on the table caught his attention, and a red heart appeared on the screen.
Quickly picking up the phone, Si-yoon didn’t care whether Denny heard or not.
“Where are you?… Have you eaten?… What are we going to do now?”

Seems like there’s a lot Si-yoon wants to know and is curious about. Si-yoon’s face stretched with excitement as if being sucked into the phone.
“No, no, I’ll go with you. I like that kind of thing too.”
Whether Denny is passionately clinging to Si-yoon because he wants to go where he wants to go or because he also wants to obsessively pursue his loved one like Si-yoon, it’s not clear.
“I’ve already left. Wait for me.”
Before hanging up, Si-yoon said he had left, stood up, and picked up his jacket.
“Where are you going? Hyung!”
Eager to wash away the unpleasant feelings with So-min, Si-yoon excitedly walked out the door, much like a happy puppy.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
