Her heart pounding, she started the car. Fortunately, it started on the first try. Relieved, she looked at herself in the rearview mirror. The bare, unmade face in the daylight was visible.
“I should have put on makeup.”
After a brief regret and rummaging through the glove box for cosmetics, she found a lipstick but quickly threw it back.
‘What’s the use of looking good.’
But the thought that she might not even look good overwhelmed her. And then, somewhat comforted by the thought of Si Yoon’s definite taste, she relaxed.
“Let’s just work.”
Si Yoon, who was deep swimming, surfaced, releasing his held breath.
“Phew… I thought I heard something.”
“The doorbell?”
…….

“Is she here?”
Si Yoon swiftly rose to the surface. Water droplets trickled down his solid body, glistening.
After parking, Mi Joo stood in front of Si Yoon’s house and rang the bell. There was no response from the intercom for a long time.
“Surely he didn’t call me over and then leave.”
Just as she was about to press the intercom again with an uneasy heart, she heard Si Yoon’s voice.
“Come in.”
The door opened automatically with an electronic sound. His low, baritone voice. A straightforward tone saying to come in without any greeting. His slow but restrained voice made Mi Joo tense.
Mi Joo opened the door and stepped into the yard. The green grass reminiscent of a golf course. A building with large glass windows like those seen in movies spread out before her.
“Wow. What’s all this luxury? Where am I supposed to go?”
As Mi Joo hesitated, unsure of which direction to take, Si Yoon, draped in a robe, approached her.
‘What? Did he come out of the shower? Why is he drying his hair with a towel? It’s his house, but why only a robe at this time, why!’

Mi Joo felt breathless at the unexpectedly casual appearance of Si Yoon.
She had resolved to focus only on work and knew about Si Yoon’s definite tastes, but the sight of the man before her made her heart flutter for no reason.
Si Yoon, standing before her, lightly shook his wet hair with his hand and greeted her.
“Nice to see you again.”
“Hello.”
Mi Joo awkwardly bowed deeply, then surprised herself with her excessive politeness and decided to be more assertive.
“I thought you wouldn’t come since I didn’t hear from you. I was swimming.”
Thinking she wouldn’t come.
He had waited, wondering when she would arrive, and eventually couldn’t bear the wait, plunging into the water, ignoring his own feelings.
“I came quickly because you said it was urgent without setting a time. It doesn’t seem urgent, though.”

“It is urgent. Shall we go to the swimming pool first?”
“What?”
The swimming pool? As it is, his chest is clearly visible through the loosely tied robe, and now what else does he want to show? Mi Joo’s heart began to race.
“The drink I was having and the sofa are over there.”
“Ah… Alright. Let’s go.”
Mi Joo then felt embarrassed about her earlier presumptuous thoughts of floundering in the water.
Si Yoon led the way to the swimming pool. Walking barefoot on the grass, Si Yoon moved swiftly.
‘When was the last time I saw someone’s bare feet?’
Especially the bare feet of a robust man like that. Mi Joo blushed at the thought.
Water droplets trickled down his legs under the robe. And with each step, the loosely tied belt of the robe outlined the strength in his waist and glutes.

‘Am I having perverse thoughts about a man’s backside?’
Mi Joo began to worry whether she was discovering unknown tastes in herself. Just then, Si Yoon turned around and asked her.
“What would you like to drink?”
Caught peeping at his back, Mi Joo startled and shrugged, but quickly acted nonchalant.
“Something with chocolate, if you have it.”
Chocolate, like a child. Si Yoon couldn’t help but let out a chuckle.
“Have a seat for a moment.”
Si Yoon went inside, connecting to the terrace, and Mi Joo looked around as if sightseeing.
The vast swimming pool that seemed to take your breath away with just one lap. The calmly gardened garden and well-maintained grass. A luxurious villa she was seeing for the first time.
And on the terrace, there was an ivory-colored three-seater sofa and a matching pale marble table, facing the swimming pool.

Mi Joo gently sat at the end of the sofa, waiting for Si Yoon.
After a while, Si Yoon came out to the terrace with two differently shaped glasses, showing one to Mi Joo.
“Mint chocolate. Is that okay?”
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
