Misu was glad to see Siyun, who came without any contact, but Siyun, who entered with an inexplicable tiger expression, made her uneasy.
“You didn’t say you were coming. How did you get here?”
Misu approached Siyun and held his hands.
“I was curious about you, Misu.”
Watching Siyun kiss Misu on the forehead, Misu relaxed, smiled brightly, and then went back to the table to organize the manuscripts.
Misu’s figure organizing manuscripts by the window against the backdrop of the evening glow was as beautiful as a painting.
In the incoming sunlight, Misu’s body faintly shone through her blouse.
Meeting Suyeong in such a pretty appearance, Siyun was annoyed again.
“Since when have you liked that style?”
“What? What style?”

“Clothes.”
He wanted to ask about Suyeong as soon as he came up, but surprisingly, the first words that came out were about clothes.
“Why clothes?”
Misu looked down at her outfit. It was nothing different from usual. Although the blouse was slightly see-through, she didn’t think it was something to make a fuss about.
“This outfit is the one Siyun helped me choose last time. I’ve worn it a lot. Is there something strange about it?”
Misu didn’t usually interfere or comment on what someone wore, but today was different.
She didn’t like the idea of going out to meet another man while wearing a slightly see-through blouse. But how could she express such childish feelings?
“The seasons are changing. It doesn’t suit you anymore.”
He tried to conclude the argument by saying that he often talked nonsense about fashion, which he usually didn’t do. He felt frustrated that he was becoming childish and jealous, emotions he had never felt before, and he didn’t know how to express them to Misu.
‘I don’t know well, but maybe this feeling is jealousy. Or maybe it’s a possessiveness to be the only one who knows Misu.’

Anyway, experiencing such emotions for the first time in his life, Siyun felt confused.
“Oh! Did Miss Suyeong just leave? Did you not meet her in the elevator by any chance?”
Of course, since they had never met, there was no way they would recognize each other, but if a Korean passed by in a foreign land, no Korean would ignore it.
“I saw her.”
Finally looking away from the manuscript, Misu looked at Siyun. And she smiled warmly, as if she was pleased.
“I knew it. I thought we would get along when we met. I felt the same way.”
“It’s a cold perspective.”
Seeing the enthusiastic and talkative Misu with boundless trust, Siyun feels annoyed again. If that pretty name Suyeong comes out of those lovely lips again, he might not be able to endure it.
“Instead, you complimented my critique manuscript. Would you like to see it, Siyun?”
Misu neatly hands Siyun the well-organized manuscript and then goes back to her desk.
Siyun, taking the manuscript, reads a few lines at the beginning, but the words don’t register in his eyes now.

“Why? Do you not like Siyun?”
“No, I find Cho Suyeong a bit off-putting.”
Misu wanted to smooth out Siyun’s wrinkled face, but at the same time, she found Siyun, who didn’t like the idea of interacting with a writer for the first time, unpleasant.
“Why? Is Mr. Siyun concerned that the writer is a bad person?”
Since when did he know and wrap everything around in such a good way? A chill ran down Siyun’s spine.
“Why didn’t you tell me that Cho Suyeong is a man?”
“What? It’s a man’s name.”
“No, it’s a woman’s name.”
“Anyone can tell it’s a man’s name. Did Siyun get mad because Suyeong is a man?”
“No, I’m not mad. I just don’t feel great.”

Although he is angry, it seems too clumsy to say he’s angry, and he doesn’t know how to express his feelings.
“He’s not a man; he’s just a writer. I only have Siyun as a man.”
While saying words that would melt Siyun’s heart, her gaze remains on the manuscript. And she keeps laughing without stopping as she reads the manuscript.
‘There’s someone else who can make Misu laugh like this, even if it’s not me.’
As if he had fallen into a serious shock, Siyun sat down and bowed his head.
The most infuriating thing is that the person who first saw the picture or the critique manuscript is not Siyun himself.
Siyun raised his head and spoke aggressively.
“Next time, I’d like to be the first one to see it!”
“What? What do you mean?”
“Whatever Cho Miju likes. Anything, I’d like to see it first. Whether it’s a picture or a manuscript, show it to me first.”

With a confident expression as if it were his natural right, Siyun finally caught Misu’s attention as she put down the manuscript and stared at him.
Siyun spread his arms. Misu, always strong, beautiful, and charming in Misu’s eyes, and now waiting with open arms.
Without any hesitation, Misu went to Siyun and hugged him.
Siyun pressed his cheek against Misu’s smooth and soft cheek. He shaved cleanly in the morning, but now, in the afternoon, his cheeks and jaw had a slight stubble, and Misu twisted her body as the slight roughness tickled her.
“It tickles.”
‘Does she like this kind of thing?’
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
