“A half-demon? Is that even possible?”

Matilda’s bombshell threw the room into commotion. Amid the confusion, Hayden was the first to question Matilda.

“What do you mean? That Atirai’s disciple is half-demon?”

“It’s not that she *is* a half-demon, but rather that there’s a possibility of it, Lord Hayden.”

Leonard corrected Hayden’s statement, arms folded.

“How could such a possibility even arise? Matilda must have some basis for saying that, right?”

Now everyone’s eyes turned to Matilda. She calmly continued her explanation.

“I suppose I should start from the beginning. My suspicion about Vasquez’s birth stems from her mother, Greta Manson.”

“Manson? Manson… that name sounds familiar. Ah! Manson—she was your disciple, wasn’t she?”

“I remember her too. Wasn’t she particularly gifted in summoning magic?”

Menupio chimed in, recalling her as well. Though it had been over twenty years, those who shone with talent were not easily forgotten.

“Yes. Greta was one of my most cherished students. Had she not abandoned magic due to her family’s objections, she could have become a high-tier mage.”

Matilda reminisced wistfully about the young Greta, recalling just how exceptionally talented she had been. But Hayden, seated across from her, pressed for answers, snapping her back to the present.

“What about Manson? Ugh, spare us the nostalgia and just get to the point.”
