Seeing her standing there with her mouth agape and not uttering a word, Leonard calmly asked, “What’s wrong? Do you have too many guests to invite? Then just invite them all. There’s plenty of space.”

“What are you even doing right now?”

“Preparing for the wedding.”

“When did I ever say I’d marry you? Or have you found another bride already?”

At Cordelia’s sarcastic remark, one corner of Leonard’s lips twitched upward—a clear sign he was extremely irritated.

“Come to think of it, when have I ever taken your opinion into account? Even sending Diloana’s territory to the Martial Alliance was entirely my decision.”

“So you’re saying you’ll arrange my wedding however you please too?”

“You seem to have forgotten—it’s my wedding as much as yours. And what’s the problem anyway? You don’t even need to prepare anything. On the wedding day, you just hold my hand and walk down the aisle—that’s it.”

At first, she thought he was joking, but Leonard’s expression was utterly serious. He wasn’t the type to joke around lightly, so Cordelia decided to respond in earnest.

“I don’t want to marry you, Master.”

“Why?”

“Do I really have to explain why? I just don’t want to. I said I don’t.”

Though she felt like a child whining about not wanting to take medicine, Cordelia stubbornly insisted.

“Is it me you dislike, or marriage itself? Be precise.”
