Wishing My Husband Dead (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 112
Cordelia tightly pressed her lips together. An awkward silence flowed between them. She couldn’t even imagine meeting his eyes, so she kept staring at the ground. Gathering her courage, she barely managed to break the silence that felt like an eternity.
“I… um. I’ll go in now…….”
“Oh, you should rest. Hmm. Rest.”
“Yes. I, uh, finished… all my homework.”
None of the exchanged sentences flowed smoothly. Without even glancing back, Cordelia hastily fled the laboratory.
Only after the door had fully closed did Leonard roughly run his fingers through his hair. A sigh escaped him involuntarily.
He knew Cordelia felt burdened, yet he couldn’t hold back the words that rose to the tip of his tongue.
It wasn’t willpower—it was closer to an instinctive struggle. His feelings for her had built up so intensely that they’d swollen beyond what he could bear any longer.
This was the first time Leonard had ever felt such a vivid spectrum of emotions toward another person, leaving him utterly confused. Until he’d met Cordelia, people had been divided into only two categories for him.
Leonard himself, and everyone else.
His family, comrades, and subordinates—everyone else was lumped together in that second group. He’d never felt the need to differentiate among them, because they simply hadn’t mattered enough to him. He hadn’t even thought they were worth the effort.
But Cordelia wasn’t part of “everyone else.” She belonged to neither category; she was someone far more special and significant.
That was precisely why it hurt so much.
When Leonard confessed, he’d noticed the bewilderment flashing across Cordelia’s face—and it felt as if the ground beneath his feet had crumbled away. He’d anticipated it, yet facing it in reality still choked the breath right out of him.
Even stopping her from giving her answer had been uncharacteristic of him. If Baron ever learned of this, he’d surely click his tongue in disapproval.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
