The ship, blessed with a fair wind, arrived a bit earlier than expected at the Wilas Islands at dawn.
Rubbing her sleepy eyes, Cordelia clumsily got off the ship, carrying her heavy luggage. Then, someone suddenly snatched her bag.
She was instantly alert, thinking she was robbed by a pickpocket as soon as she disembarked in Wilas.
“A thief, huh?”
Surprisingly, the thief was Belucci. He wordlessly picked up Cordelia’s luggage and walked ahead.
“…What?”
“Belucci may not have much in his head, but his character isn’t bad.”
Baron followed, chuckling with an ambiguous comment that sounded like both a compliment and an insult.
The dim sky soon brightened up.
She quickly woke up and busily looked around.
The most striking feature was the three giant bronze statues. They were so large that Cordelia’s head only reached the toes of the statues.
Two men and a woman, each holding a brush, a pen, and a sword, appeared even more imposing up close.
“Who are they?”
“The founders of the Academy. The great sage Kent, Iyrack, known as the God-given Brush, and Skofche, the Beginning and End of the Sword.”
“Oh, those people.”
“I’d love to explain more, but we’re short on time. Let’s stop by the inn first to unpack.”
“Okay.”
Cordelia obediently followed him to the inn. Baron seemed familiar with the area, heading straight to their destination without looking around.
They stopped at a building with an antique facade. Surprisingly, at the entrance was not a person, but a rabbit. The rabbit spoke naturally.
“Welcome to the Shining Stars. How many of you?”
“Four.”
“How many rooms?”
“Four.”
“Please come in.”
Internally excited about the talking rabbit, Cordelia managed to maintain her composure.
Four keys fell into Baron’s hand from thin air. As he approached the door, it automatically opened.
The group followed him inside. Just as Cordelia and Roti were about to enter the inn, the rabbit spoke.
“Sorry, but animals are not allowed.”
“Oh? But…”
Just as she was about to retort, “But you’re an animal too,” Baron, who was waiting at the door, silently took out a 10 Ringkit coin from his pocket and flicked it.
The rabbit opened its mouth wide and swallowed the coin, then cheerfully said, “Please come in. The Shining Stars has comfortable cushions and special food prepared for guests’ pets.”
The change in response was so abrupt that Cordelia couldn’t help but let out a laugh. The others, seemingly used to this, didn’t say much.
The interior was luxurious, but it seemed ordinary compared to the talking rabbit. The group unpacked in their respective rooms and met again in the dining area on the first floor.
“Listen well. Once you’re inside the Roepel, try not to mingle with others and head straight to the lab.”
“Okay, got it.”
“If old men with a lot of time start prying, just ignore them.”
“Is that okay to do?”
“It’s okay for my disciple to do that.”
It sounded like advice that might negatively affect social skills, but Cordelia, unfamiliar with the wizarding society, just accepted it.
“You’ve got the lab key, right?”
“Yes.”
“And if you meet Maximilian.”
“Should I run away?”
“If you’ve already met him, you can’t escape. Just come back alive. As long as you’re breathing, I’ll save you.”
“Is that supposed to be advice?”
She thought about protesting, but the determined look in Leonard’s eyes made Cordelia sigh inwardly.
“I’ll guide you to the Roepel Mage Association.”
“Why? Can’t we go together to the entrance?”
“In Wilas, Maximilian’s eyes are everywhere. It’s better not to attract attention.”
“And take this.”
Leonard handed her a ring from his pocket. It looked plain, but the red gem embedded in it glimmered radiantly.
“What’s this ring for?”
“It’s a ring with protective magic. It’ll save your life at least once.”
“Can’t you give me about ten? I have ten fingers, after all.”
“Just wear it and stop talking.”
“Ha ha. Even this one is precious enough to buy a castle.”
At Baron’s words, Cordelia hurriedly slipped on the ring Leonard gave her. She paid close attention to Leonard’s nagging-like advice and Baron’s explanations.
Now she was all set.
“I’ll be back.”
With a resolute face, Cordelia left the Shining Stars.
Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day
It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!
This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.
The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.
Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.
If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.
It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.
The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.
In the end, everything will come together and be explained.
One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!
In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.
Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.
However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.
Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.
Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?
——
Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.
His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.
Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”
——
The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.
Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!
Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!
The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…
——
But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.
The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.
She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…
Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”
Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”
Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.
Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”
Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.
Zhu Wansheng: ?
Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…
On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.
Warm breath lingers on her neck.
“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
