Wishing for Salvation (Completed Main Story) - Side Story 5
His sharply angled eyes locked straight onto Seo Yoon.
Kang Hyun, frowning slightly and not even blinking, soon slowly nodded his head.
It was only natural for her to want to spend time with her parents, whom she’d been worrying about all this time.
Understanding Seo Yoon’s position, he allowed her to stay out overnight—but a pang of disappointment warmed his throat.
“Do as you please. I’ll come pick you up tomorrow.”
Kang Hyun, doing his best to act composed, granted her wish and pulled Seo Yoon into his arms.
He kissed her face repeatedly, then took her small hand and gently rubbed it against his cheek before stepping back one pace.
“Tell them I had something urgent come up, so I’m leaving first.”
Feeling no need to enter the house, Kang Hyun simply turned around and headed toward the elevator.
Though he pretended nonchalance, his legs felt heavy as he walked away.
He worried how he’d pass the time without Seo Yoon.
“Oppa.”
Seo Yoon watched his unusually distant back—broad yet oddly fragile today—for a moment before quickly stepping forward and grabbing Kang Hyun’s arm.
“I was just testing you. I’ll stay another thirty minutes and then go.”
“If it’s for my sake, don’t worry about it. I’ll handle it myself.”

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
