The day he could finally visit Seo Yoon without worry.

Kang Hyun, having finally reached Seo Yoon’s birthday, had already finished getting ready to go out before sunrise.

He’d wanted to head straight to Seongbuk-dong the moment midnight passed, but fearing he might upset Seo Yoon, he waited for dawn while preparing gifts and food.

Kang Hyun frowned as he slipped his right arm into the coat sleeve over the light-colored knit he’d carefully chosen himself.

He’d been distracted while boiling seaweed soup with a video playing on his tablet; by the time he snapped out of his daze, the boiling water from the pot had already splashed onto his arm.

Ever since Seo Yoon began rejecting him, he hadn’t slept properly, his mind foggy—on top of which, cooking alone for the first time in his life seemed to invite constant mistakes.

Still, he’d managed to prepare a fairly presentable birthday meal, leaving him in quite a good mood.

Kang Hyun arrived at the Seongbuk-dong house in his car packed with various gifts and checked the time.

It didn’t feel too early to serve breakfast, so he gathered the lunchbox and thermos and headed inside.

In the dining room visible past the interior hallway, Seo Yoon sat as usual in her nightgown, drinking milk.

He was about to approach with a conscious smile when Seo Yoon sensed his presence and looked up first.

“Why so early?”

“To have breakfast together.”

“Breakfast?”
