After driving for just over an hour, Ji An arrived at a rest stop and headed straight to the restaurant for lunch.

“Why aren’t you eating?”

Kang Hyun merely stared blankly at the food he’d ordered, not picking up his spoon.

“Don’t worry about me—just eat.”

Unable to watch him keep refilling only his water glass, Ji An placed a rolled omelet from the side dishes onto his rice.

“Go ahead and eat—it’s not easy driving, you know.”

“Thanks.”

Kang Hyun finally picked up his chopsticks, cut the omelet in half, and put it in his mouth.

“It’s good.”

Watching his long fingers and precise chopstick movements—so neatly like him, utterly without pretense—Ji An kept adding side dishes to his plate to ensure he wouldn’t stop eating.

Kang Hyun, uncharacteristically flustered, still readily ate everything she offered, which eased her worries just a little.

She’d seen him force down cold meals far too many times; it was only natural she reacted so sensitively to his eating habits.
