Ji An, who had intended to head to her assigned accommodation, turned around and came down to the resort lobby instead.

She wanted to take a short walk along the dark ocean at night, partly to shake off the lingering effects of alcohol.

Although it was still raining quite heavily, she planned to listen to the sound of waves crashing fiercely against the cliffs.

Upon reaching the entrance, Ji An grabbed an umbrella left there for free use and stepped out toward the beach, only then realizing too late that her pockets were empty—she frowned.

“Oh, my phone.”

“Ji An, your phone’s right here.”

“MOMMY—!”

She was absolutely sure she was alone. Startled by the whisper right near her neck, Ji An instinctively flung the umbrella away.

Plop, plop—thick raindrops instantly drenched her whole body.

“Why’d you leave it in your room? Were you hoping I’d bring it to you?”

Ji An took two steps back to avoid Jin Ho, who was approaching to hold the umbrella over her.

“No, just give it here.”

“A-Are you embarrassed? From the very moment you first smiled at me, I thought—you were different from other girls. Th-thought so.”

What on earth was this guy babbling about?

Ji An extended her hand, already contemplating whether to just kick this fool in the shin—phone in hand, spouting nonsense.
