After checking the IV and antibiotics hanging on the IV stand, Doctor Han opened the door to the room and froze in place.

The medical staff following him also abruptly stopped.

“Hello.”

Hearing a familiar voice, Kang Hyun looked towards Seok-won.

“What did you say?”

“What do you mean? I told them everything as it is.”

“You’re crazy.”

“Compared to the Executive Director, I’m just mildly insane.”

Seok-won, visibly angered this time, retorted sharply and moved towards the door.

“Come in, Ji-an.”

Doctor Han, who had been rooted to the spot, nodded slightly to Ji-an before leaving the room.

“…….”

Seok-won, letting Ji-an in, left the room and closed the door behind him.

Ji-an, with her arms hanging limply and sniffling, slowly approached Kang Hyun, rubbing her swollen eyes.

“Why are you crying?”

She had purposely waited at the door until her tears stopped.

At Kang Hyun’s words, she burst into tears again.

“I’m sorry. Sob, I didn’t know you were this sick, huh…”

Standing beside the bed, Ji-an looked down at her feet, her shoulders shaking.

She couldn’t bring herself to look directly at Kang Hyun’s face.

“Why are you apologizing? It’s my fault for not taking care of myself. Stop crying, now.”

Kang Hyun reached out and grabbed Ji-an’s hand, shaking it.

“You should have said if you were in pain. Why did you eat all that? Why didn’t you say anything, why….”
“When I’m with you, I don’t feel the pain. I ate it because it was really delicious.”

“Don’t lie to me. I won’t be fooled anymore.”

Ji-an, with her eyes red from crying, looked down at Kang Hyun’s hand and spoke firmly.

“Okay. I was wrong, so stop crying.”

“The surgery was…….”

“It wasn’t major, just about an hour.”

Kang Hyun smiled with dry lips, causing Ji-an’s tears to grow thicker.

Sitting up straight, Kang Hyun carefully wiped the reddened area around Ji-an’s eyes.

“Don’t cry, okay?”

Kang Hyun’s eyes, unskilled at comforting others, wavered uneasily.

In his childhood, giving sweet candies or ice cream was all he knew, and sometimes he just watched silently, unsure of what to do.

“Okay, I won’t cry.”

Ji-an quickly composed herself, not wanting to burden Kang Hyun, who was in pain, and sat on the foldable chair.

“How long have you been feeling this sick?”

“Just suddenly this morning.”

Another obvious lie.

Ji-an swallowed the hot lump rising in her throat and looked up at Kang Hyun.

His pale face, pretending to be fine until the end, was somewhat irritating to her.

“Take back what you said about the Executive Director being healthy.”

“Why.”

“Why?”

Ji-an questioned back with sharp eyes.

“I’ll put it on hold.”

“You remember you collapsed at the workshop, right?”

“Okay, it’s canceled until I’m fully recovered.”

Ji-an, with her eyes still damp, burst into an aimless laugh.

“I’ll stay with you until the Executive Director is discharged, as your assistant secretary.”

“I’d rather not show this side of me.”

“Then because I’m your girlfriend.”

“That’s even worse.”

“I want to be here with you.”

Ji-an’s face quickly turned serious as she brushed the back of Kang Hyun’s hand.

She couldn’t leave him alone in pain.

“Alright, do as you wish.”

Kang Hyun nodded agreeably.

Seeing her swollen eyes made him uneasy, but he didn’t entirely dislike the compassion she felt for him.

Kang Hyun, even after removing the troublesome tube from his nose, continued to suffer from a high fever.

The surgery went well, the scar was healing without issues, and the minor inflammation in the peritoneum was under control, but his body, long neglected, seemed to be retaliating.

Kang Hyun, having not slept properly for the past two days, dozed off but woke up in less than two hours.

“Did you wake up?”

Ji-an, who had been sitting on the sofa with her laptop open, quickly approached the bed upon hearing the rustling sound.

“How can you skip meals? You must be hungry.”

Ji-an’s softly muttered words echoed in his ears like tinnitus.

His half-closed eyelids, heavy from the medication, moved to find Ji-an.

Waking up to find Ji-an beside him felt like a distant dream.

He thought, if she stayed by his side every day like this, he wouldn’t mind even a fatal illness.

Kang Hyun, using his drowsy state as an excuse, entertained such terrible thoughts and rubbed his cheek against Ji-an’s hand.

The large man clinging to her small palm seemed somewhat pitiful.

A groan seemed ready to burst out from his tightly closed lips at any moment.

“How do you feel?”

“Good.”
Ji-an, readily extending one hand to Kang Hyun, used her other hand to smooth her disheveled hair.

“What’s so good about being sick? You don’t look good at all.”

“I do.”

His flushed face from the mild fever, his irregular hot breaths, and the needle inserted in the back of his hand.

Nothing seemed right about him, not even the relaxed corners of his eyes.

“Should I raise the bed for you?”

“No.”

His hoarse voice resonated in the palm of her hand.

Kang Hyun pulled Ji-an’s hand to his lips, pressing his dry lips against the soft skin beneath.

As Ji-an silently accepted him, Kang Hyun grew bolder, slipping his straight fingers between her fingers and biting gently, careful not to hurt her.

“Ji-an.”

His words and actions, slow as if submerged in deep water, but his lips busily traced her thin palm lines, yearning for something.

His face, usually unreadable, and his dark gaze were now clearly filled with desire.

Ji-an, withdrawing her hand from him, leaned forward calmly.

She intended to give a short peck, but his arm, laden with transparent tubes, pressed near her shoulder as if waiting.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
