Laches glanced at both Viscount Hillos and Bianca, who was trembling and bowing her head beside him.

He clicked his tongue in clear disapproval.

“Remember this well: I am not as benevolent as Referentia. My patience is short, and I despise those who forget their place and act recklessly.”

The two of them remained utterly silent under Laches’s brutal warning.
