As Riley met his chilling gaze, she felt a shiver and instinctively wrapped herself. The white and transparent skin was covered in blood, and the darkly sunken eyes created an eerie atmosphere, unlike the usual affectionate gaze.

Giben, meeting Riley’s eyes, blinked slowly. His cloudy pupils gradually started regaining light. He alternately glanced between the man he had turned into a bloodstain and Riley, then slowly stepped back.

Wiping the blood off his hands with a handkerchief nearby, he approached Riley. Perhaps due to the shocking sight of him using the blood as if it were face lotion, Riley took a step back instinctively as he approached. Giben paused, staring at Riley, then muttered in a somewhat subdued voice.

“Saw an unpleasant sight, huh?”

“……. ”

“Did it surprise you?”

Who wouldn’t be surprised in this situation? Riley just nodded her head dumbfoundedly.

His cold appearance flipping the blood-stained man, contrasted starkly. The gap was astonishing, considering he usually portrayed the image of a neat and tidy gentleman.

“Why did you come up so soon?”

“Sak said to wait for about 30 minutes…”

He looked at Riley, his cold gaze focusing on the bloody mess, and spoke.

“It took longer than expected.”

“… What happened? Why did you… to that person…?”

He didn’t answer. At that moment, Sak rushed inside.

“Clean up.”

“Yes, Master.”

Giben sat Riley on the sofa. Then, as he took off the blood-stained clothes, he said.

“Just wait a moment, I’ll wash up.”

He returned to his usual gentle and gentlemanly appearance. If it weren’t for the blood-stained spots, one might have dismissed the recent situation as a misunderstanding.

As he went to wash up, sitting alone in the room, Riley noticed the cleaning tools moving on their own, starting to tidy up. They wiped the blood off the floor, arranged the torn pieces of clothing, and sprayed aromatic perfume where the man, whose fate was unknown, had been. The cleaning was completed.

“Can’t handle him.”

Arpeggio’s words echoed in Riley’s mind.

Arpeggio always warned to be cautious of Giben. He wasn’t as kind and gentle as he seemed. Yet, his cautious demeanor and the recent situation didn’t match, creating a strange feeling.

When he had been poisoned and received treatment at the mansion, he had been grumpy and touchy all day, but today’s sense of dread was absent.

‘…He seemed like a completely different person.’

To be honest, Riley was very surprised. What she had just witnessed was hard to believe as the actual situation.
The sight of Giben she had faced so far was so different that she felt discomfort. It felt like she had stolen a glance at something she shouldn’t have, creating an uneasy feeling.

Which one is the real Giben? Well, there might not be a need to distinguish. Both could be aspects of Giben. After all, everyone has duality.

‘…What if all the appearances he showed me were lies.’

The most fearful thing was not that he might be more malicious and violent than he thought, but rather that all the appearances he had shown so far might have been thoroughly fabricated lies. Of course, this marriage itself is a lie and a pre-agreed role-play, but still… The vague anxiety of whether the images she had imagined and the ones she faced were entirely different engulfed her.

She started considering the possibility that he might be a more frightening person than she thought. Arpeggio’s concerns and warnings began to make sense.

The shocking scene of him flipping blood and brutally injuring someone added to this, but with Arpeggio’s words, it overlapped. Riley was engulfed in a vague uneasiness, wondering if this was the real Giben, and whether the Giben she had seen so far was a thoroughly crafted facade.

And most importantly…

‘…I’ve become that sincere towards him.’

If she had seen this side of him during their initial meeting, it might not have been a big surprise. After all, this marriage and relationship were just role-playing for mutual enjoyment, and even at that time, Riley didn’t have deep feelings for Giben. It wasn’t genuine.

Even if he were the worst criminal in the world, as long as he didn’t harm her excessively, she would have accepted it with that mindset. Even if the affectionate actions he showed were calculated and artificial, she wouldn’t have been disappointed. It would have been just the right amount of emotion and distance.

But now… she was a bit scared. Her feelings toward him had become deeper than expected, and the emotional distance towards him was closer than she thought. She became conscious of him, wanted to know more, and might continue to… become greedy.

In the end, the existence of Giben Liensdter became more than a dismissive ‘it could be like that’ for Riley Eadalin. She could no longer ignore what she had subconsciously avoided.

‘I…’

Have I fallen in love with Giben?

With someone I absolutely shouldn’t love?

A realization brought a profound impact. Riley lowered her head, tightly gripping her sleeves. She needed some time to sort out her complicated thoughts.

My Arch-enemy Sealed My Memory and Said That He is My Husband

This is an incredibly captivating story that you absolutely shouldn’t miss! I’ll give a brief introduction here, and below you’ll find a detailed synopsis of the plot.

The female lead is a fierce and powerful demon king. The male lead is a once-in-a-millennium celestial lord, admired by the entire cultivation world.

They are equally matched, legendary rivals who have battled for centuries.

In the final duel, the female lead is gravely injured. The male lead saves her, seals her memories, and hides her true identity. He tells her that he is her fiancé. His entire life has been flawless—except for the one thing he never expected, never controlled, and never wanted to control: falling for his greatest enemy. She is his inner demon, his obsession.

When the female lead regains her memories, she is furious at his deception.

She makes his life a living hell.

And somehow, the male lead—possibly a total masochist—doesn’t mind at all. In fact, he’s happy she’s paying attention to him.

Yep, we’re back to my favorite trope: male lead suffering. If you love this kind of story, jump into the pit with me now!!!

Intro

Dong Xia lost her memory.

Her handsome and extremely powerful fiancé Li Qing comforted her: “It’s okay if you can’t remember. I’ll always be with you.”

Everyone thought Dong Xia’s ancestors must have burned incense to get such a perfect fiancé. He was the number one person in the immortal realm, yet he remained chaste and only loved her.

…

The day before marrying her fiancé, Dong Xia finally remembered everything.

She wasn’t suffering from memory loss at all.

Her arch-enemy had made her fake her death, destroyed her cultivation, replaced her memories, and pretended to be her deeply in love fiancé.

No wonder he said, “It’s okay if you can’t remember”!

Dong Xia laughed coldly as she pulled out her long knife: Li Qing, prepare to die 🙂

*

Li Qing, as the supreme being of the immortal realm, was the people’s shining beacon.

The only unknown stain in his life was his affection for Dong Xia, the ruler of the demon realm.

In the final battle of the war between immortals and demons, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. The ruler of the demon realm was finally slain under the sword of the supreme being of the immortal realm, and everyone in the immortal realm applauded.

The cultivation world lost a ruler of the demon realm.

And in the back mountain of Li Qing’s cave dwelling, he secretly hid away a fiancée.

Notes:

1. The female lead is white on the outside, black on the inside, and the queen of flattery; the male lead repeatedly tests the edge of darkness, a VIP guest at the crematorium.

2. Fantasy cultivation world setting.
