“Head Maid!”

The maids jumped up cheerfully. Amy gestured for them to stay seated and keep eating, signaling not to come over. Rita, after glancing around, stood up and approached Amy. A kitchen maid brought food to Amy’s seat. Amy had just picked up her fork when she noticed Rita coming closer and lifted her head.

“Head Maid.”

“What is it?”

Amy set her utensils back down, gazing regretfully at her food. Rita leaned in and whispered in a voice too low for others to hear.

“Will His Grace be busy today or tomorrow?”

Wondering why she was asking that, Amy raised an eyebrow but calmly replied,

“The festival’s over, so there won’t be anything major for now. Lessons are also on break for a week.”

“I see. Understood.”

Rita clenched both fists with a look of firm resolve, then hurriedly left the hall after telling Amy to eat well. Amy tilted her head, puzzled by her odd behavior, then refocused on her meal.

“Your Grace, you must go to the village.”

“…Didn’t the festival just end?”

Noah glared irritably at Rita, who had barged in early that morning to nag him. Rita threw the window wide open, chasing away the gloomy air that had settled overnight, and scolded him.

“Don’t you have any sense of urgency? It’s only fortunate that guest left so quickly…”
