“When I was the youngest maid in the Crown Prince’s palace, I used to open my window every night and stare at the moon or stars for a long while before sleeping. Since I had no one backing me, all the unfair and painful burdens fell to me. But the sun and moon in the sky are fair, aren’t they? They shine equally on everyone.”

Though she couldn’t recall the exact moment he’d opened his heart to her, she knew she’d never have ignored or looked down on a lonely child trying his best at something.
