Dae Woon parked the car in front of Pyeongan Group’s main headquarters.

“I’ll call you after I’m done with work.”

As Ga Eul gathered her handbag and moved to get out of the car, Dae Woon pulled her back.

“Do your best out there.”

Smiling, Dae Woon pressed his lips firmly against Ga Eul’s. Seeing her stride out with such solemn determination, as if about to undertake some monumental task, made him chuckle.

“Of course I’ll do well.”

Ga Eul clenched her fist tightly, showed it to him, then returned his kiss.

“You do your best too, Dae Woon. Flatten Chairman Ki Heung Sik’s nose for me.”

Ga Eul shook her fist once more at him before stepping out of the car.

She headed straight for the chairman’s office. She wanted to check on Chairman Oh’s well-being. Yesterday had been an extremely shocking day for him as well, and she wouldn’t feel at ease until she saw his face and confirmed his condition in person.

Walking down the hallway on the floor where the chairman’s office was located, Ga Eul bumped right into Park Gyu Jae. It seemed there really was truth to the old saying: “Enemies meet on narrow bridges.”

Park Gyu Jae appeared to have just exited the chairman’s office. His expression looked grim, as if he’d just received a scolding.

“Han Ga Eul!”

Spotting Ga Eul, Park Gyu Jae bared his teeth and approached her, seemingly having found a target for his pent-up anger. Ga Eul saw madness flickering in his eyes.

She quickly scanned her surroundings. This being the chairman’s floor, there weren’t many rooms—only one door bore a sign reading “Conference Room,” directly opposite the chairman’s office. If no meeting was currently underway, the room would likely be empty.
