Whispers of Autumn Wind (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 37
I decided to be happy—and I was. I’m surely not the only person who endures a crime yet cannot bring themselves to report the perpetrator.
Besides, wasn’t I at least compensated with a building in Gangnam? So let me be happy. Even twisted happiness still counts as happiness.
Ga Eul declined Jeong Se Hyun’s offer to drive her back to the office, wanting instead to fully savor the joy of becoming a Gangnam building owner.
She then went to see her building. To her surprise, it was rather modest—she hadn’t expected Chairman Oh to hand her a towering high-rise along Teheran-ro, but still… this was somewhat underwhelming.
Standing in one spot, Ga Eul carefully examined her building. Soon, she grew fond of it. Isn’t it true that people develop affection for things after seeing them long enough? Though unremarkable among the surrounding grand skyscrapers, this was *her* building.
From now on, the rent from here would support her, Grandmother, and Gyeo Wool. It would also pay off their debts. The thought of repaying those debts sent a surge of joy rising from her chest—this was *real* happiness!
To return to the office, Ga Eul hailed a taxi via her phone app right in the heart of Gangnam. How many years had it been since she last rode in one?
While waiting, the Gangnam air she breathed tasted unbelievably sweet—so sweet, in fact, that she knew her mental state must be seriously compromised. Yet what could she do about the flood of dopamine erupting in her brain?
With elegant poise, Ga Eul entered the taxi and boldly gave the driver Ki Dae Woong’s office address. Her only thought was to go to the office and boast to the President. Maybe, just maybe, she was now richer than him?
She got out of the taxi right in front of the office, deliberately dragging out the moment as long as possible—hoping someone, perhaps from the reopened convenience store or café, might catch a glimpse of her.
*I’m the woman who just got out of a taxi!* Ga Eul wanted to shout it to the world.
She threw the door open and strode into the office—only to see, as always, the President slumped lazily on the sofa. Confidently, Ga Eul approached him and declared:
“President, I’d like to take a half-day off today.”
Ki Dae Woong, half-asleep on the sofa, barely managed to lift his heavy eyelids and looked at Ga Eul.
He felt utterly unmotivated—there was no reason to feel otherwise. The plan that once brought him happiness had dissolved into nothingness, so what drive could possibly remain?

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
