“President Ki, I’m sorry. This person is currently too agitated and isn’t thinking straight. In truth, we came here to apologize.”

Intimidated by Dae Woon’s imposing presence, Oh Sung Jin lowered himself further.

“Go ahead and try.”

“Pardon?”

“Apologize! You said you came to apologize, didn’t you?”

Dae Woon casually draped one arm over the back of the sofa.

“Oh, not you, Madam. You were an accomplice. Madam, don’t bother apologizing—just accept the judgment of the law.”

“Accomplice? An accomplice?!”

Taken aback, Shin Myeong Hwa retorted incredulously.

Now, both Oh Sung Jin’s and Shin Myeong Hwa’s attention had shifted from Dae Woon’s thuggish demeanor to his underlying intent.

“I told you to sit. If you prefer standing while listening, then by all means, stand.”

Shin Myeong Hwa and Oh Sung Jin obeyed robotically.

“The car used in the crime, the villa used in the crime—they both belonged to you, Madam. While people believed I was still in India, I had actually been lying in wait at a hotel owned by Pyeongan Group, which Oh Myung Se treated like his own home. I was surveilling Oh Myung Se. But on the day of the crime, Oh Myung Se managed to evade me and my security detail and slipped out of the hotel.”

This was new information even to Ga Eul. Up until now, she and the president had deliberately avoided discussing that day’s events. She’d planned to ask him thoroughly once he returned—but now she was hearing it firsthand.

“How was that even possible? Of course, with an accomplice’s help. A hotel maid hid Oh Myung Se inside a laundry cart and helped him exit. That maid has since confessed—it was done at your request, Madam Shin Myeong Hwa.”
