“Ga Eul, would you like some coffee? Wait just a moment—I’ll go buy it for you.”

It was something she never expected to see in her lifetime. Jeong Mi Oh, who had always acted recklessly and fearlessly as if nothing in the world could intimidate her, was now voluntarily offering to buy coffee for Ga Eul.

Jeong Mi Oh returned, sweating profusely, holding two iced Americanos.

Since the café across from the office was closed due to the fire, Jeong Mi Oh must’ve walked quite a distance in this heat to buy the coffee—especially since she didn’t even know this neighborhood well enough to locate a coffee shop easily.

Still, physical exhaustion was a hundred times better than emotional distress. Think of how much anguish *she* had caused Ga Eul with her lies.

If not for the claim that the President had a fiancée, Ga Eul might’ve even confessed her feelings then and there—perhaps even thrown herself into his arms. Even if their fathers were embroiled in some bitter history, she still could’ve at least said she liked him.

But now, even knowing he has no fiancée, she can’t confess—because she’s learned he’s preparing to return to the U.S.

“How can I help you?”

Ga Eul asked coolly, guzzling down the coffee Jeong Mi Oh brought—without the slightest hint of guilt.

Indeed, coffee bought by someone else always tastes best. So you’d better enjoy it while you can—after all, Jeong Mi Oh is acting this desperately only for now; no one knows when she’ll revert to her old self.

“My father wants to send me to the U.S., so please, Ga Eul, talk nicely to Dae Woon Oppa for me. According to Se Hyun Oppa, Dae Woon Oppa listens to you.”

Personally, Ga Eul wouldn’t mind at all if Jeong Mi Oh just left for the U.S.—considering how her lie robbed Ga Eul of the chance to confess to the President. And besides, how could it possibly be pleasant seeing another woman circling the man she likes?

Thus, Ga Eul showed no intention whatsoever of correcting Jeong Mi Oh’s mistaken belief that the President listened to her. After all, *Jeong Mi Oh* was the one who’d lied about him having a fiancée—Ga Eul herself had told no falsehoods.

“Since this mess all started because Dae Woon Oppa intimidated my father, he’s the one who needs to fix it. Tell him if he doesn’t, I’ll just die. I’d rather die than go to the U.S.”
