Chairman Oh Gyu Baek’s condition was that Ga Eul graduate from university as soon as possible and join the group. Since this aligned with Ga Eul’s own wishes, the deal concluded smoothly.

Gyeo Wool objected, asking whether her older sister hadn’t wanted to keep studying, but Ga Eul reassured her—after all, one couldn’t have everything; when given the chance to secure even one thing, it was right to take it.

Ga Eul also moved into an apartment arranged by Chairman Oh, located near Gyeo Wool’s school. She no longer needed to commute to Gi Dae Woong’s office. Yet still, she kept going to the office.

“You say the same thing every day—don’t you ever get tired of it? Just admit you’re happy to see me honestly. You were waiting for me, weren’t you?”

“It’s not you—I was waiting for your lunchbox.”

Ga Eul pouted playfully but placed the lunchbox in front of Dae Woon without any sign of reluctance.

“I’m going to keep working here part-time even after I return to school, so don’t hire anyone else. With just one capable part-timer like me, all the office work will be handled—and then some.”

Setting the lunchbox open before him, Ga Eul declared confidently. Dae Woon ignored her words, picking up his chopsticks while admiring the lunchbox contents.

Bulgogi, seasoned bellflower root salad, young radish kimchi, and blanched spinach—all neatly arranged. On the side, even cherry tomatoes. At a glance, it was clear that Grandmother had prepared it with great care. No wonder Ga Eul spoke with such pride.

Dae Woon first sipped the dried pollack soup to moisten his throat.
