Ga Eul, who was running, held a mobile phone in her hand — the one Dae Woon had thrust into her grip while shouting, “Run!” Clutching the phone tightly, she gathered the hem of her gown with the same hand and sprinted forward, eyes fixed straight ahead.

“You’re dealing with me now.”

Dae Woon’s voice rang out from behind. He must have stepped in to block the men chasing her. Anxiety surged in Ga Eul’s chest. She focused solely on the door and kept running.

Just a few steps away from the door, Ga Eul felt her collar yanked from behind. The hand gripping her pulled her backward. Without hesitation, she unbuckled her belt. Her gown slipped off, freeing her body as she broke loose.

She kept running. Opening the door into the main building, she saw a hand reach out from behind, trying to shove the door shut again.

Summoning all her strength, Ga Eul slammed the phone she held onto the intruder’s fingers. Dae Woon probably never imagined his phone would be used this way.

“Argh! You bitch!”

With a scream, the hand recoiled from the door. Ga Eul swiftly slipped inside.

But this time, someone grabbed her hair and yanked hard. Using the backward pull to her advantage, she slammed the door shut — trapping the arm of the one holding her in the gap. Ga Eul pressed against the door with all her might.

“Aaargh! My arm!”

The man outside shrieked at the top of his lungs. When she eased the door open slightly, his arm slipped out. Ga Eul quickly locked it, then sprinted upstairs toward the floor with the dressing room.

First, she called Chairman Oh Gyu Baek on her own phone. Since his house was nearby, she hoped he could dispatch his bodyguards quickly.

As soon as Chairman Oh answered, Ga Eul briefly explained the situation and urgently requested he send guards immediately. Then, recalling the route they’d taken from Chairman Oh’s house to Dae Woon’s earlier, she gave precise directions to Dae Woon’s house.

Next, she reported the incident to the police. Though Dae Woon claimed he’d already called them, it might have just been a bluff to intimidate Dae Cheol. She told the police armed intruders had broken into the house. When asked for the address, she replied she didn’t know it but asked them to track her phone’s location instead.

Once that was done, Ga Eul quickly dressed, pulled out a stun gun and pepper spray from her bag, and prepared to step outside to check on Dae Woon’s safety.
