When You Forget Me (Completed Main Story) - Side Story 7
A shabby sedan pulled to a stop in front of a hospital in Beijing, China.
The man who stepped out from the driver’s seat was Lee Kwang Il. His face was deeply sour as he adjusted the ill-fitting, wrinkled suit he’d deliberately chosen to wear.
It was regarded as China’s top-tier hospital—undeniably so from every angle. And that, precisely, was the problem right now.
While communicating awkwardly in Cantonese with hospital staff, Kwang Il bit down on his lips. Though fluent in English, French, Russian, and of course Chinese, he’d intentionally feigned incompetence.
Soon, a weary-looking nurse led the way.
“I hope you’ve found the right person.”
Kwang Il gave a noncommittal murmur in response to the nurse’s polite remark and sighed briefly as he followed her.
The hospital room they arrived at was far worse than the dozens of standard rooms he’d passed en route. But it was too late to complain about that now.
Kwang Il stood there, jaw agape, staring at the man seated on the hospital bed.
Even the hospital gown couldn’t hide his robust frame. Mistaking Kwang Il’s shock for emotion, the nurse quickly cautioned him.
“The patient has amnesia. He doesn’t even know his own name, so please be careful.”
Kwang Il dragged his bony hand across his face. He was desperately acting out the role of a brother who’d miraculously found his long-lost sibling.
“Yes, thank you. This… this is definitely my younger brother.”
At those words, the man on the hospital bed lifted his eyes—despite not knowing who he himself was. Those eyes, which still gave off that suffocating, eerie feeling, remained unchanged.
Kwon Gi Ju.
Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!
The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
