It was a title she’d hardly ever heard before. Chairman Song clicked his tongue in displeasure and turned his head away.

“Well, I guess you’re right.”

“What?”

“That’s just how it’s seemed lately.”

Eun Chae curtly delivered her request to Chairman Song, who was now looking back at her.

“Make sure Park Moo Sung’s family can’t come back to the house.”

Chairman Song clicked his tongue again, as if utterly flabbergasted. He thought that perhaps because she’d been pampered her whole life, she grew more and more oblivious to proper decorum as she aged.

“Just who do you think you are, ordering me around like that?”

“I know that Madam Sung Moon Hee has been acting like the lady of our house ever since her husband passed away. And Park Jin Sung—despite his age and credentials—has already been appointed department head. Didn’t you actually hope for Park Moo Sung’s death, Chairman?”

“You…”

“It’s none of my business whom you choose to live with again, Chairman. But that house isn’t yours—it’s the home where my mother and I lived together.”

Eun Chae made it unmistakably clear that ‘we’ did not include Song Myung Hwan. Infuriated by her insolence, Chairman Song clenched the armrest of the sofa so tightly it creaked loudly.

“You still don’t understand your place at all. Do you really think that’s how you speak to your father?”

“Have you ever even acted like a father?”

“Do you have any idea whose hands made it possible for you to live comfortably—clothed, fed, sheltered, without a single worry? How dare you!”
