“Yes, of course. Several kinds of herbs should arrive within a day or two, and I’ll prepare something even more effective than what I used before.”

Marchioness Felice gave Charlotte a meaningful glance.

“Now that I think of it, Duchess, you don’t seem to employ anyone else… Where on earth do you source all those different herbs?”

“Where there’s a will, there’s always a way.”

A young noblewoman around Charlotte’s age’s eyes sparkled.

“Could it possibly be that His Majesty himself supplies them for you?”

“Certainly not. I couldn’t possibly trouble His Majesty with such matters. Let’s just say… he’s been my long-time partner. Though nowadays we only meet once or twice a year, he travels around gathering herbs for me.”

“Oh my, oh my! I think I might just know who the Duchess is referring to.”

The most talkative middle-aged lady coyly covered her lips with her plump fingertips. Seeing the others’ curious gazes, she winked playfully at Charlotte as if asking, “Is it alright?” before continuing.

“More like an old adversary. Or perhaps a quarrelsome family member.”

Marchioness Felice took a sip of her fresh tea and smiled with evident amusement.

“Now that you mention the name, I believe I know who you mean as well. But isn’t he rather unwell these days? Does that not hinder him at all when gathering herbs? After all, some of them only grow in places with treacherous paths.”
