When The Silver Bell Of Charlotte's Pharmacy Rings (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 104
Charlotte said they first needed to check Luger’s records, and Matiel agreed. Aside from that, the only other thing they could do was trace Crest Morren’s whereabouts.
There had been some progress here as well. Matiel had dispatched people throughout the Kingdom of Roanoke to find anyone who had participated in Crest Morren’s research. They scoured the entire nation thoroughly to uncover anyone even remotely connected to him—or anyone who had at least heard his name.
“There was someone directly linked to that very man we saw at the exhibition.”
“How directly?”
Matiel crooked one side of his lips upward, then let out a short sigh. He looked like someone who had tried a clumsy lie and been immediately caught.
“Not extremely direct. He was someone temporarily hired by, I believe, the fifth or sixth assistant of Crest Morren.”
“He had a lot of assistants.”
“I can’t be certain, but Crest Morren apparently wasn’t particularly meticulous about the process of creating his inventions or materializing his ideas. In other words, he wasn’t the sort of mysterious, untouchable type who’d prick your hand the moment you brushed against him. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have kept so many people around him—and he certainly wouldn’t have given lectures accompanied by assistants or contract workers.”
“People like that are rare among inventors or scientists. Then again, he wasn’t exactly human, was he?”
Matiel chuckled softly.
“Well, the most crucial things—or at least those he deemed important—were probably kept secret. After all, we were told almost none of his research documents ever left his possession. That means he maintained quite strict secrecy despite having many people under him.”
Matiel, who had been fiddling with the edge of the table, suddenly rubbed his forehead.
“Enough about that—back to the main point. We found the person who was temporarily employed.”
“You found him?”
Charlotte’s voice rose softly, cutting through the quiet music, as she ran her fingers along the rim of her saucer.

Sorry but, what the hell is wrong with this woman? She’s beyond childish & spoiled. Does she have no self outside a desire for the Duke? She really makes no sense. The way others cater to her makes even less sense. The duke is supposed to marry her simply because it’s what Edesa wants? Since when did she out rank him? This mess has no logic to it.

“Yes, Your Highness.”
They’re both delusional. Didn’t the Duke himself already tell the crown princess he was interested un someone else and wouldn’t marry Edesa?
