It seemed to be the first time since entering Nellia’s body that it had rained this heavily.

Nellia closed her eyes tightly, listening to the sound of the rain.

Though she worried about Duke Hart being alone on such a day, she consoled herself by thinking he was quietly lying in bed and would be fine.

By the time the carriage arrived in front of the imperial palace, the surroundings were already pitch-dark. Perhaps because of the rain, there were hardly any people on the streets.

‘He said it’s the detached palace on the west side of the main palace.’

Remembering the detached palace where she was supposed to meet Carlos, Nellia walked toward it. The farther she went toward the detached palace, the fewer people she saw.

Soon, a building that she presumed to be the detached palace Carlos mentioned came into view. It was as dark and gloomy as the overcast weather.

Jenuit, who had been following her in dragon form, tilted his head in confusion.

[Is this really the right place?]

That was precisely the question Nellia wanted to ask herself.

‘This must be the right place…?’

Yet, realizing she couldn’t just keep lingering outside, Nellia quickly stepped inside the building. The rain had grown heavier, and even with an umbrella, the hem of her dress was quite soaked.
