Nellia, returning home, saw her family greeting her with bewildered expressions the moment she opened the door—because she had arrived without any prior notice.

After all, she had only decided that morning that she ought to visit home, leaving no time to inform them.

The first to snap out of their daze and approach her was her mother, Lily. Lily scanned Nellia from head to toe.

‘Hmm…?’

Even though she had returned home unexpectedly, her parents’ reaction was completely different from what she had anticipated. She had expected them to be flustered but happy.

Her father, Sean, who had also drawn near by now, looked at Nellia with worried eyes.

Lily, who had been inspecting every corner of Nellia’s body, spoke first.

“Nellia… you weren’t, by any chance, kicked out of the Duke’s mansion, were you?”

Was that what they’d been worried about?

Nellia suddenly felt all her energy drain away, and she grumbled in reply.

“Of course not.”

“Ohoho, thank goodness. You startled us by coming home so suddenly without a word.”

Only then did Lily relax her expression and cover her mouth as she laughed. Sean, evidently tense for the same reason, visibly sighed in relief.
