Her captured wrist throbbed. Without a word, Tae Gyu dragged Na Rim to a relatively deserted hospital corridor.

In truth, the pain didn’t bother her much. What unsettled her was the uncertainty—what he remembered, what he might say next. That’s why her heart felt uneasy.

Having reached the corridor’s dead end, Tae Gyu roughly swung open the heavy metal door of the emergency exit.

“Ah, it hurts. Please let go of me.”

Bang—the door slammed shut, and Tae Gyu released Na Rim’s wrist. Inside the emergency stairwell, silence swallowed them whole. He stared down at Na Rim, exhaled deeply, and finally spoke.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Tell you… what?”

His gaze, low and heavy like thick fog, pierced straight into her chest.

Na Rim knew two faces of Tae Gyu.

Yoon Tae Gyu—the diligent, promising doctor who, despite being the chairman’s grandson, never shied away from hard work, and who charmed not only fellow medical staff but also patients with his sweet, sociable demeanor.

“That day’s incident—you, Nurse Lee, knew everything about it, didn’t you?”

And Yoon Tae Gyu—the cold, prickly, ruthless man who freely inflicted wounds with words on anyone who crossed into his territory without permission.

Perhaps because she’d already revealed her feelings, the Yoon Tae Gyu standing before her now no longer seemed kind. Stung by his icy tone, Na Rim clamped her lips shut.

It had been pointless meddling.

She shouldn’t have brought him along in the first place. Whether or not they got along, she should’ve called Professor Yoon. Even if she’d taken him to the hotel, she should’ve found some way to help him regain consciousness and get home.
