Seon Woo connected the IV line to Eun Jae’s slender arm, then placed his hand against her burning forehead.

Though he didn’t show it outwardly, he must have unconsciously tensed up—his chilled hand, stiff from tension, quickly warmed beneath Eun Jae’s feverish heat.

A thermometer reading revealed her temperature had climbed above 38.5°C.

Earlier, when he’d touched Eun Jae’s cheeks, he’d assumed his own hands felt hot—nothing more.

After all, he always burned fiercely in her presence.

He recalled Eun Jae’s words—that she disliked rainy days, having endured them far too often, and that she inevitably caught colds afterward.

Regret flooded in like a tide for all he’d overlooked, despite knowing better.

Glancing at his wristwatch, Seon Woo let out a long sigh. It was truly time now to head back to the hospital.

Slowly, he turned his head—and met eyes with Tae Gyu, who’d been standing outside the door, too hesitant to enter, silently watching all this while.

“You’re off today?”

“Yeah.”

Though he wasn’t thrilled about relying solely on Yoon Tae Gyu, objectively speaking, no one else was more suited for the task.

“It’ll take about six hours.”

Seon Woo slowly loosened the clamp on the IV line, carefully adjusting the drip rate before speaking again.

“Remove the fluid right on schedule—but that doesn’t mean sit here doing nothing until then.”
