When I Reach You (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 37
He was utterly unreadable, impossible to decipher. At the sudden closeness of his breath, Eun Jae flinched and leaned back, regarding him with a puzzled expression.
“Your taste…?”
Was it that it didn’t suit *my* taste—or *his*?
Still unable to extract from his unhelpfully terse phrasing what kind of answer he wanted, Eun Jae strained to understand. Though his true intent remained elusive at first glance.
While she pondered over his words in her head, Seon Woo—still faintly smiling atop her shoulder—moved his lips once more.
“You said you don’t picky-eat?”
“I *don’t* picky-eat.”
What an opportunist he was. As if, upon hearing she couldn’t remember, he deliberately decided to tease her. Eun Jae fixed him with a sharp glare, her arm resting lightly on her slender waist.
“What on earth did you eat at this late hour to act like this?”
Scarcely had her words left her mouth when Seon Woo’s gaze—piercing as a dart—locked onto her.
‘What? Where’s he even looking?’
Eun Jae swept his stare with undisguised displeasure. To anyone watching, his eyes were unmistakably fixed on her plump, glistening lips.
“Well then… what did I eat?”
Eun Jae looked up at him, displeased. His gaze remained stubbornly glued to her lips, showing no sign of retreating.
Gradually, her expression softened. Though she couldn’t pin down exactly why, she swallowed dryly, as if under the humid, sticky weight of a sweltering summer day.

Male lead fell into her trap — and shattered when she walked away
This is also on my reread list!
This one is a slow burn, but when it burns, it burns hard.
Definitely worth a read, y’all!

The story follows a thousand-year-old seductive spirit who, on a bet, sets out to charm the male lead—a once-promising but unfortunate cultivator.
But just when she succeeds in making him fall for her, she heartlessly leaves, driving him to madness.
Determined to find her at all costs, he captures her, keeping her by his side no matter what, even if she hates him.
I love this kind of trope—I enjoy watching the male lead suffer in agony.
The ending drags a bit with unnecessary filler, but that’s fine.
As long as I enjoy the beginning, I’m good.
