When I Reach You (Completed Main Story) - Chapter 21

After finishing the meal, Seon Woo taught Eun Jae how to use the dishwasher. It wasn’t particularly complicated, and one explanation sufficed. Beyond that, whenever he taught her something, she quickly picked it up.

After spending some time separately, Eun Jae came out to the living room upon hearing Seon Woo’s knock. Having seated her on the sofa, Seon Woo returned from the kitchen carrying cake and tea.

—“Just one slice of cheesecake should be enough.”

Before heading home, Seon Woo had checked the message he received from her and, on his way to the officetel, briefly hesitated—then abruptly turned the steering wheel in the opposite direction.

A seemingly insignificant message from her had suddenly brought back a vivid memory: long ago, Eun Jung had excitedly raved about a famous cheesecake shop. Though he didn’t particularly care for cake, he’d grown so thoroughly tired of seeing that cake afterward that he’d deliberately avoided it ever since.

Back then, he’d clearly brushed off her words—but now, he recalled even the exact location of the shop Eun Jung had described.

Opting not to simply buy cheesecake from a nearby bakery, Seon Woo detoured all the way to the shop, in the opposite direction from his home. The entire drive to the officetel, whenever he stopped at red lights, he glanced at the cheesecake placed on the passenger seat and broke into quiet laughter.

Remembering that moment, Seon Woo let out another soft, breathy chuckle.

Was he now unable to distinguish between pretense and reality?

It’s confusing.

As Seon Woo set the cake down first and reached to place the mug in front of Eun Jae, she extended her hand to take it.

“Give it here, please.”

“It’s hot.”

Gently stopping her hand, Seon Woo carefully placed the cup on the table. The tea’s fragrance softly diffused through the air.

“Wow, the scent is really lovely.”
