Arriving at the employment agency, Seung Cheol first stepped out of the car and looked up at the building, which—just at a glance—appeared old and shabby.

“Is this the right place?”

“Yes, according to the address on the business card, this should be it…”

What’s this? There isn’t even a signboard. Ju Sung, still seated in the car, grumbled as he alternated his gaze between the card and the building.

Seung Cheol slung the Boston bag he’d prepared in advance over his shoulder, shoved his left hand into his pocket, and snapped open his umbrella.

“We’ll know once we go up. You wait here.”

“Yes…”

As the rain grew heavier, Ju Sung stared blankly for a long while at Seung Cheol’s hazy retreating figure disappearing into the building.

Seung Cheol’s steps were light as he climbed the stairs. Upon reaching the second floor, he found a standing sign by the door that read, “Employment Agency.”

“Here it is.”

Seung Cheol, who’d been stroking his chin, pushed open the door. *Ding-dong*—the bell rang as the door opened, and a familiar-looking place—somewhere he felt he’d seen before—came into his view.

“Yep, this is it.”

Contrary to its worn exterior, the interior was surprisingly tidy. Whether it was because he hadn’t met someone in the same line of work in so long, or because he was excited at the prospect of borrowing money, Seung Cheol couldn’t say—but either way, he was in an extremely good mood.

Seeing the familiar interior, Seung Cheol instinctively flashed his pearly whites.

After folding his umbrella and placing it by the entrance, a husky, low voice called out to him.
