While heading towards the 31st floor, the two stood hand in hand, and the elevator, devoid of conversation, was filled with awkward tension.
The physical contact they had shared so far had been impulsive.
The gaze they happened to meet that day seemed to shine brighter. Then, the touched hands felt ticklish that day. The pressed lips were too hot. All of these made their breaths quicken.
The casual physical contact that had started so lightly had naturally evolved into more intense intimacy, but she never expected it to progress so deliberately and planned.
Suddenly, she remembered the day she first came to this apartment to meet him. Initially, she thought he was a strange person, and the more she got to know him, the more she thought of him as a man she couldn’t reach.
Even until the moment she left this house, heading to her parents’ home, she never dreamed that he would truly become her husband.
Just being in the same space with him made her embarrassed and her heart pound. Perhaps that’s why she felt gratitude toward this place as well.
She was never a talkative person, but now, with the conversation severed in this situation, the silent air became even more difficult to bear.
Eunjae, who had been hesitant, glanced at Sunwoo with the urge to say something.
“I thought we were going to a nearby hotel.”

“There’s a place better than a hotel, honestly.”
From the person finishing his sentence, a small laugh was heard.
“It’s close to the hospital.”
In response to Sunwoo’s following answer, Eunjae’s lips, unable to find appropriate words to reply, tightened shut after that question.
It seemed difficult to continue the conversation. Persistent thoughts kept intruding, emptying her mind. As a result, the conversation was cut off, and silence returned between them.
Today, even the short duration felt too long.
As the elevator approached the 31st floor, her body stiffened. Her throat swallowed dryly, and her heart raced madly.
Soon, or maybe in a little while.
The events about to unfold were easily envisioned. Perhaps that’s why tension continued to build up, and her lips felt increasingly dry, as if they were cracking.
During the confusion of various thoughts crossing her mind, a clear chime signaled their arrival at the destination. Simultaneously, the elevator stopped, and the doors opened.

While hesitating for a moment, or maybe soon.
The destination was announced by a clear chime, and the doors opened. For a moment, the silent hallway maintained its darkness.
The sound of breathing, inhaling and exhaling, was audible enough, and the irregular beating of two hearts resonated distinctly in the ears. Sweat continued to pour from her hands in his, as they stood in the silent corridor.
Relying on the faint moonlight shining through the small window, their gazes met in the darkness, accustomed to each other.
Sunwoo lightly grasped Eunjae’s neck with one hand and turned his head downward slowly. As his face approached hers, Eunjae closed her eyes tightly.
As their lips met and warm breaths intermingled, her body trembled. Momentarily taken aback, Eunjae wrapped her legs around Sunwoo’s waist.
Looking down at him with the remembered face, Eunjae asked, “W-what if someone sees us?”
“There’s only one room, 3100, on this floor.”
Sunwoo smiled reassuringly, then kissed Eunjae’s lips again.
Holding Eunjae in his arms all the way to the entrance of the apartment in the darkness, Sunwoo showed no sign of hesitation.
He bit, sucked, and pulled Eunjae’s lips in various angles. It seemed he intended to devour her every breath without reservation.

Upon reaching the door, a small sensor light turned on.
“The apartment key is in your pocket.”
The smile reflected under the greenish sensor light was particularly sweet today. Sunwoo, embracing Eunjae, continued walking to the door, unfazed.
Biting and sucking her lips deeply, he let go and spoke again, “Take it out.”
Before Eunjae could respond, their lips met again. Leaving her lips to him, Eunjae lowered her hand.
Surprisingly, while fumbling with his front pocket, Eunjae, shocked by an unusual sensation, withdrew her hand. A moan escaped from Sunwoo.
Not here, it seems…
“…Not there.”
“T-then where…”
Supporting Eunjae with one hand, Sunwoo grabbed her hand and moved it to the back pocket. Eunjae’s hand, now in the back pocket, wandered for a while, unable to find the card.

“…Stop fumbling and just take out the card. Do you want me to pull down your pants here?”
“I really don’t know where it is… Oh, here it is. I found it.”
After a long search, Eunjae found the card and reached back to place it near the doorknob.
As the door opened, a familiar melody echoed through the hallway, and Sunwoo, tensing his body, quickly grabbed the handle.
The entrance door opened, and the dim sensor lights turned on.
Placing Eunjae on the low shoe rack, Sunwoo swiftly removed her shoes.
He smiled slightly as he looked down at her, then without averting his gaze, he kissed the sole of her foot. Startled, my toes curled unconsciously.
When male lead is the homewrecker
“I know she doesn’t love him.”
I’ve read the novel below twice already. Girls, I’m highly recommending it to you!
The female lead? Not a good person.
The second male lead? Not a good person.
The male lead? Willingly plays the third party, breaking up the female and second male lead’s relationship despite all the warnings from his friends—so yeah, he’s definitely not a good person either.
Basically, nobody in this novel is simple-minded or without scheming.
The female lead starts off as the male lead’s secretary, but don’t worry—later on, she takes over the company while the male lead steps back to support her. He won’t steal her spotlight, overshadow her, or dull her shine.
I love novels where men are out here snatching wigs, tearing each other down, and going to war just to win the female lead’s affection. And this is exactly that kind of novel. Most of Hai Dai Ran’s works have this dynamic. You’ll see the male characters’ emotions being pushed to the absolute extreme.
There’s even a scene where the second male lead exposes the male lead online for being a homewrecker. The brotherhood immediately gangs up on him, dragging him through the mud. I find it compelling —it completely flips reality on its head, where usually, women are the ones fighting over a man and getting torn apart by the sisterhood.
For me, female leads in the novels I read should only struggle in their careers, not in love. But if the brainless romantics in the story are all men? I have zero complaints.
I’ve pretty much read all of Hai Dai Ran’s novels and even translated all of them—her works are just my thing. I’ll slowly upload everything here. One day, when my website is official, I hope I can invite her to join as one of the star authors.
