“Is your throat dry?”

Liz glanced at me with a smirk, looking at the back of the horse carrying me.

It didn’t seem entirely absent.

It reminded me of the saying that horses, when thirsty, would find water on their own. Liz decided to entrust herself to the horse’s movements for now, trained to prioritize the owner’s command above all else.

In fact, since the horse didn’t stop, there was no other option.

After climbing a gentle slope, a flat dirt path appeared with small rocks and branches scattered around. The zelkova leaves on both sides were too thin and sparse to block the midday sunlight.

Liz walked along with the horse, her body engraved on the sun-drenched dirt floor like a mesh. By now, she tried to estimate how many she should count.

“Fourteen? Fifteen?”

It seemed roughly around that. So, if she turned back now, it wouldn’t be too late.

Liz pulled the reins for the fifth time. However, once again, the horse didn’t listen.

“Phew…”

It might be better to resolve it quickly and return. Liz loosened the reins and swung them widely.

The horse indeed seemed to have a dry throat.

As she turned right without hesitation at the fork in the road, the sound of a stream flowed not far away.

Then, perhaps feeling anxious, the horse’s pace naturally quickened.

‘Was it that thirsty?’

But no matter how much it might be, there was something oddly abnormal about the horse’s behavior.

Her heart felt like it was beating so rapidly that she could feel it through the saddle. Moreover, why was her breathing so heavy? Even though she hadn’t ridden at full speed, she was panting as if she were exhausted, drooling and letting saliva dribble down.

But, above all, what looked abnormal was that the horse had completely forgotten the person on its back.

‘Unless there’s a drastic change of heart, I won’t push you away.’

She distinctly heard it, but… the current situation seemed far from usual.

Liz suddenly felt uneasy.

As the horse increased its speed, shaking its head, the unease intensified. The overly excited horse didn’t seem to drink water but rather started to gallop as if it would jump into the water.

Fear surged.

‘I… I have to get off. Now…!’

She knew she had to, but how could she get off a horse racing at full speed?

Instead of falling, she had to throw herself to avoid falling off.

But soon, an opportunity presented itself.

Near the water’s edge, a large dead tree collapsed, blocking the path.

Liz stood up at that moment and pulled the reins. It was a precautionary action in case the horse lifted its front legs for an emergency stop.

However, the horse leaped forcefully, easily jumping over the fallen dead tree. And Liz lost her grip on the reins.

“Oops!”
One foot slipped from the stirrup. For a moment, it felt as if the body was floating in the air, but then it tilted to the side, tumbling to the ground. It was a fall!

However, falling didn’t necessarily mean death. Liz had learned equestrian training that included exercises to protect the body in case of a fall. To minimize the impact, she had to curl her body, wrapping her arms around her neck and head. By doing so, if lucky, it might end with just a few bruises.

Yes, now was the perfect time to apply what she had learned! But why… why was my hand protecting the lower abdomen? What could be there?

“Ah!”

Suddenly, there was a sharp memory piercing through Liz’s consciousness.

“Could you be pregnant?”

“Why are you eating so much? Like you’re pregnant.”

“Why is only your lower belly protruding, while the rest is fine?”

As scattered memories pieced together, a horrifying image emerged. It was so shocking that Liz didn’t want to believe it.

“No… this can’t be. I was using contraceptives.”

But with the fragments of memories from a previous life added, she could no longer deny it.

“How could I not have known I was pregnant for over six months?”

When she asked a friend who got married at a young age due to speeding, she replied, “I thought it was irregular periods. And the blood was faint, so there was no way to know for sure.”

“Blood? How could such a thing happen…”

“I didn’t know either, but they say such cases exist.”

Oh my goodness. It was indeed a pregnancy!

Chills ran down her spine. Loss of appetite, returning appetite, enlarged breasts, protruding lower belly, aversion to coffee and wine, reluctance to horseback riding – all these were symptoms of pregnancy!

Protecting the lower abdomen before the head or neck was an instinctive response to protect the fetus inside!

Willpower couldn’t overcome instinct.

Empress Liz didn’t care about the child, but Mother Liz embraced the child. In this situation, the child’s life took precedence over her neck being broken.

But…

“It’s too late.”

In this situation, a miscarriage could not be avoided.

She never wished for a child, and it was a child she would have preferred not to conceive. Yet, it happened. Despite knowing it was meaningless, she couldn’t let go of her belly.

“Please let me live. Mom.”

The child was pleading from within the womb.

My Ex-Girlfriend Is The Regent In The Female-dominant World (Male lead transmigrates to the matriarchal world)

Two years ago, Gu Sui picked up a homeless woman in ancient costume from the street.

Apart from occasionally claiming to be a princess from a female-dominant country due to illness, her figure, appearance, intelligence, and martial arts skills were impeccable.

Naturally evolving from roommates to girlfriends, as time went on, Gu Sui found it increasingly difficult to tolerate her queen syndrome.

“Mu Jiulu, can you stop controlling me inside and out? Let’s break up.”

Gu Sui made a breakup call, and since then, he couldn’t find any trace of her.

A year later, Gu Sui, who was planning to move, woke up the next day and found himself in a different place.

“Young Master, today is the day you choose your Wife-master through martial arts competition at Jade Dew Pavilion. Please get up quickly.”

Gu Sui: Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?

As the only son of a general’s mansion in a female-dominant dynasty, the young empress personally issued a decree allowing Gu Sui to select his Wife-master through martial arts competition. Whoever could defeat him could marry him.

Gu Sui: “……”

He didn’t inherit the original owner’s martial prowess, so anyone could defeat him! And what the hell is a Wife-master?

Forced to come to Jade Dew Pavilion, the densely packed women below made Gu Sui’s agoraphobia act up, and his face was full of resistance.

Until he saw the Regent sitting on the second floor, with a smile on the corner of her lips, her eyes wicked and nonchalant.

Hmm… she looked a little familiar.

It turned out that the Regent also found him a little familiar.

Mu Jiulu fiddled with her bone clasp, her deep gaze locked on the man who was out of place in this world.

“Finally, I found you.”
