It was almost a tragic and resolute moment.

The moment she faced Hersis’s deeply disappointed eyes.

‘Having eyes like a big dog rejected by a proposal to use contraception. Isn’t that more fatal than openly seducing?’

But Liz seemed to understand that sentiment.
‘Even I feel regretful like this, how must he be feeling?’

For the past three days, I embraced him every day. As a result, it seemed like my body automatically prepared to be held whenever the same time approached.

Liz regretted watching her body, anticipating pleasure, react with confusion.

‘I should have left the Imperial Palace altogether, not just the Empress’s Palace.’

Right now, she wanted to run to him and embrace him. It would have been easy enough to do so. But…

‘I mustn’t weaken.’

Liz regained her composure.

She patted her slightly protruding lower abdomen while firmly making a pledge.

“A baby shouldn’t be conceived in here yet. If it happens now, it will only be an obstacle.”

Afterward, Liz turned to her side and propped herself up with her arm.

“Now that the separate rooms are settled. How about the rest?”

She hadn’t noticed it when she acted impulsively or made mistakes, but changing a predetermined destiny was a more delicate task than she thought.

Changing a fate that had been set.

Liz calmly reviewed her thoughts.

She couldn’t undo giving the herbal potion to Duke Montanerre.

And come to think of it, it wasn’t such an important matter.

Certainly, it played a decisive role, but even without that incident, Hersis was still in danger.

A series of misfortunes occurred, the council was biased toward Duke Montanerre, and finally…

“Let’s think about that later.”

Liz shook her head and erased thoughts about the treacherous betrayer from the back of her mind.

Now, she had to do what she could with her own strength.

‘What’s destined to happen will happen.’

“Damn Prince Calton. It would have been nice if you had talked about something other than that. Just saying that and leaving it all up to me, what should I…?”

Suddenly, in a flash of memory, Liz jumped up from her seat.

Jaden Carlton didn’t just say those words. He said something else.

“Pardelio Hisklum!”

It was roughly that pronunciation. What could it mean? Was it their country’s language?

‘I should visit the Imperial Observatory tomorrow.’

There might be a significant hint in that statement.

That man, although he looked light-hearted, seemed to carefully choose his words.

The suddenly emerging hope eased Liz’s anxiety.

Then her eyelids closed softly.

Perhaps due to being physically and mentally exhausted all day, consciousness quickly melted into sleep.

But perhaps too much had happened all at once.

Liz dreamed various dreams in her shallow sleep.

Various people appeared one after another, tormenting Liz in turns.

But the one who tormented Liz the most was undoubtedly the original female lead, Relia.

When she reappeared, she twisted her mouth and said with a sneer.

“Do you think anything will be different just because it’s you?”

Liz couldn’t say anything.

Because that statement was true. At least until now…

The confusing dreams continued even after Relia disappeared, and Liz ended up being chased by a ghost in the end.
The ghost grabbed Liz with its long and pointed nails, strangling her. In a moment where she couldn’t even move, her breath was about to stop.

Liz felt a familiar touch gently stroking her head. With that, she was released from the grip of the scissors.

From then on, she could sleep comfortably.

Under Hersis’s affectionate touch. Without dreaming.

The next day, after having an early breakfast, Liz immediately left the Empress’s Palace.

The guards followed her a lot, but there was no sign of them suspecting her too much. Liz wasn’t going where she shouldn’t.

Liz found herself on the shores of Lake Canelly, located to the west of the Imperial Palace.

The sparkling reflection on the lake’s surface under the rising sun was a pride of the Imperial Palace, well worth the morning stroll.

But Liz hadn’t come to see that.

She constantly glanced at the entrance of a three-story stone building next to the lakeside.

It was the residence of the officials who managed the Imperial Palace.

At that moment, a young man, appearing somewhat awkward and hasty, came out of the entrance for work.

Liz instinctively changed direction. As a result, she coincidentally bumped into the man entering a side street to head to the main palace.

Suddenly startled by the unexpected encounter, he quickly bowed, bending his waist.

“Greet… Greetings to Her Majesty, the Empress.”

Receiving a fairly solemn greeting, Liz took a step closer to the man.

“Are you an official?”

“Yes… Yes. That’s correct, Your Majesty.”

“What language do you handle?”

Liz naturally started a conversation.

To the guards, it didn’t seem unnatural at all.

“Uh… I am still a trainee official, but I am proficient in the Terandis Kingdom language, the Byron Neutral language, and the Carlton Kingdom language.”

‘Okay.’

Liz unknowingly clenched her fist.

“I see. Can I ask one thing? I recently came across Carltonese, but I can’t understand its meaning at all.”

“W… Whatever you ask, please do. I am particularly good at the Carlton Kingdom language.”

The rookie official’s face turned red.

Liz lowered her voice.

“Pardelio Hisklum.”

“…….”

“What does that mean?”

“Pardelio Hisklum… Pardelio… His… Klum…”

As the man echoed Liz’s words, he shook his head with a puzzled expression.

“I apologize, Your Majesty, but that doesn’t seem to be Carltonese.”

“Not Carltonese?”

Liz widened her eyes.

“In my humble opinion, it seems to be an ancient kingdom language.”

“If it’s an ancient kingdom language… which country does it refer to?”

In response to Liz’s question, the rookie official answered.

“The Veldamion Kingdom, Your Majesty.”

Male lead Asks for a Divorce Every Day

It’s not often you come across a plot like this in the female-dominant genre — make sure to check it out!

This is a novel I’m planning to reread as well.

The male lead is strong, skilled in martial arts, and not the usual fragile type you often see in matriarchal novels.

Meanwhile, the female lead is a scientist—rational and logical. Even when she falls for the male lead, she doesn’t let her emotions cloud her decisions.

If you push through the first few chapters, you’ll gradually find the story really intriguing.

It has a mix of mystery, detective elements, and romance.

The author’s writing style is like crafting a puzzle—except they deliberately leave out a few pieces, making it hard to predict what happens next, yet keeping you hooked.

In the end, everything will come together and be explained.

One-sentence summary: Wife, stop playing with beakers and look at me!

In a laboratory accident, research scientist Zhu Wansheng accidentally travels to a matriarchal world. The original owner of the body is an eighteen-year-old only daughter of a wealthy rouge merchant, already married with a handsome young man.

Zhu Wansheng grins: Nice! She always said she was heaven’s favorite granddaughter. After a life of toil in her previous life, she can enjoy blessings in this one.

However, her joy lasts no more than three seconds as bad news arrives: the original owner’s family is about to go bankrupt, and her husband wants a divorce.

Even worse, she’s stuck with a research system full of restrictions.

Zhu Wansheng: ? Is this the destiny of a research dog?

——

Faced with this mess, Zhu Wansheng pours herself a bowl of wine to drown her sorrows. In her drunken haze, her husband arrives.

His figure is imposing, holding a long sword, with a dignified air that captivates Zhu Wansheng.

Gu Yingqing, however, looks at the alcohol-reeking Zhu Wansheng with undisguised disgust and coldly asks, “Divorce or not?” The intoxicated Zhu Wansheng mumbles vaguely, “I think… it’s not… it’s not… impossible!”

——

The next day, after sobering up, Zhu Wansheng is full of energy, rolling up her sleeves ready to make a big move. As for yesterday? She has no memory of it.

Zhu Wansheng is ambitious; a research dog fears nothing!

Upgrading rouge, extracting fragrances, producing perfumes, researching lipsticks… all shall bow to the power of modern technology!

The original owner’s dying rouge shop is revitalized. Her mother is pleased and with a wave of her hand, passes on the family business to her. As she takes control and her experimental results gain popularity, it’s the pinnacle of her life…

——

But there are always those who can’t stand to see her doing well. Jealousy, scheming, assassination attempts – they want nothing less than her life.

The person who has always kept his distance from her suddenly holds her tightly in his arms, eyes full of concern.

She is unharmed, but he falls into a pool of blood…

Zhu Wansheng feels guilty, “I can grant you one wish.”

Gu Yingqing tentatively circles his arms around her, carefully resting his head in the crook of her neck, pleading softly, “I regret it. Can we not divorce?”

Zhu Wansheng: ? When did I agree to a divorce?

[Small Theater]

The newly developed rouge is beautifully packaged, and Zhu Wansheng is eager to try it.

Gu Yingqing suddenly appears: “My lady, may I apply it for you?”

Cool fingertips lightly brush her lips. His Adam’s apple bobs as he leans in for a light bite.

Zhu Wansheng: ?

Gu Yingqing: It smells so good, I wanted to taste it…

On a warm spring day, Zhu Wansheng tries a new perfume: “Spring Night.” Gu Yingqing corners her against a wall.

Warm breath lingers on her neck.

“My lady, from now on, may I test the fragrances for you?”
