Because she’d slept in her mother’s room and hadn’t slept well, and on top of that had been bickering with Yeon Ho since dawn, Su Young collapsed onto her desk as soon as she arrived at the office and dozed off senselessly.

Yeon Ho had gone back home after eating the dried pollack soup Young Soon had prepared for him that morning, acting so affectionately—calling her “Mother, Mother”—that he couldn’t possibly behave more like the tongue in someone’s mouth.

Su Young flatly refused Young Soon’s offer to give her a ride to work and took the subway instead.

She couldn’t stand either Yeon Ho clinging to her mother in her place or her mother being overly sweet to Yeon Ho. Everyone clearly had no idea what real love was—dammit! She fell asleep cursing under her breath.

Drooling so much onto the table it had pooled beneath her face, Su Young jolted awake at the sensation of someone gently tapping her shoulder.

“Must be tired, huh?”

Seol Ji Hyun looked down at her with a gentle smile.

Su Young quickly wiped the corner of her mouth with her sleeve and glanced around.

“Oh… uh… yeah… Seol Woo Jin hasn’t arrived yet, right?”

“Did you talk to Woo Jin this morning?”

“Huh? No? Why?”

“He hasn’t been answering my calls. I wondered if he’d called you.”

“Oh? He didn’t call me either…”

Her eyes widened as she absentmindedly checked her call log.

There was a call record from 6:30 a.m., lasting about three minutes. What? She hadn’t talked on the phone…
