The event, held from 2 to 6 p.m., initially seemed to draw only publishing industry insiders who had invitations.

However, about an hour later, the vast Quex Mall was packed with visitors—not just visually impaired individuals, but also volunteers from various organizations, students on field trips, and young children accompanied by their parents—all coming to see the publishing event.

The signing session had originally been scheduled for one hour, but because so many people lined up all the way down to the lower floor just to get the author’s autograph, it ended up being extended by thirty minutes.

“I had no idea people were this interested in braille books.”

Mi Jin and Ye Won, seated together at the café set up nearby, said this while watching Su Young.

“I heard there are as many as 250,000 visually impaired people in our country. If they all showed up, we’d probably need to rent out a few more places like this, right?”

Su Young was honestly surprised too, but since it was her own publishing house, she pretended nonchalantly as she spoke.

Just then, So Ra arrived at their table, as usual, carrying four or five shopping bags in each hand.

“Is there really that much you had to buy?”

At that, So Ra’s face flushed bright red as she pulled a small book out of one of the shopping bags.

It was a pure white book, every illustration embossed in rich, three-dimensional relief.

“Look at this. It’s a poetry collection—and honestly, it’s so beautiful. Even with your eyes closed, you can feel every detail just by touching it. It’s totally amazing. I bought one for each of you too.”

So Ra handed out the braille poetry books to her friends, then pulled out a mug to show them.

“Even this mug has braille bumps. And the message is so cool: ‘The less we see with our eyes, the more we see with our hearts.’ Isn’t that awesome?”

“You only think it’s cool because you understand the meaning, right?”
